Been chasing this one for close to two years. A few weeks ago was finally able to trade for one. People have said the 21’ batch is extra good. These people are right, this is awesome! Solo dome, Happy Birthday to myself!

I love that beer. Every time there is a trip to NC. Case of that and Hop Drop n Roll comes home.

    Congrats

    Enjoy

[IMG] Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup is all CANS! (Correctly matched all pairs blind)

    1) Firestone Lager (4.5%): A German helles lager from California brewed since 2000 and has flavors of pale malts, lemon citrus and light honey and Munich malts. Balanced.
    versus
    2) Summit Keller Pils (5.1%): A zwickel-style beer from Minnesota that has flavors of lemon, pale malts, with lots of yeast to fill the body with a dry finish.

    3) Kona Big Wave Golden Ale (4.4%): A blonde ale from Hawaii with tropical flavors of tropical orange and some dank melon/berry. A light and smooth finish.
    versus
    4) DESTIHL Hawaii Five Ale (6.4%): A blonde ale from Illinois with huge buttery flavors upfront. Then has a tropical peach, papaya, guava, and starfruit flavor. Larger and sweet.

    5) Odell Mountain Standard IPA (6.5%): An IPA from Colorado that has flavors of lemon, ripe pineapple, and orange citrus.
    versus
    6) Sierra Nevada’s Hazy Little Thing (6.7%): A hazy IPA from California that has lemon/lime citrus, and pineapple flavors.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    2) Summit Keller Pils:
I am biased toward Kellerbiers, and this one doesn't dissapoint. Firestone Lager may be more balanced, but this one has a huge yeast and drying profile that is perfect for the summer.

    4) DESTIHL Hawaii Five Ale: I'm not sure who wins this battle. This beer was so strange with a buttery flavor. Weird, but also tropical. Kona Big Wave seemed kind of boring so this one gets the win.

    6) Sierra Nevada's Hazy Little Thing (6.7%): These two beer were surprisingly similar. This one has slightly more lemon/lime tart and flowery flavors with less sweet orange citrus. I think because it's the summer, I'll go with the NEIPA.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you tried DESTIHL Hawaii Five Ale and did you get the buttery flavors?
Have you tried Odell Mountain Standard and Sierra Nevada's Hazy Little Thing, and which did you prefer? Did you think they were similar?

#2, this is traveshamockery good. Like approaching world-class. But what would you expect from a beer that includes bacon in its flavor profile? Absolutely love it.

OBX has the best beaches but watch out for the ocean under toe. It can be dangerous (especially if you are half shit faced).

Thanks for posting your vacation pics. I enjoy them.
