Genesee makes a very good Oktoberfest at a great price point. Used to enjoy it, but couldn’t take the headaches anymore.

But now that you mention it, their other kits state "clone" and this one doesn't... so take it for it's worth.

 

On tours my favorite guide said they use Durst Malt for the German Malts on this one.

Have not, nor have I ever seen it or heard of it but I would happily try it. I’d never say no to a new German one.

 

Altenmunster Oktoberfest is from Allgauer. It's the one you usually see in the half liter, flip cap bottle with a handle (IIRC).
