Good day BAs! IMHO, the best beer these guys make consistently:

A very quaffable stout, malty, chocolatey, and slightly bitter.

Hasn't rained for a few hours but still have a 33% chance for today - reality translates that to 100% chance of rain today. Looks like Thursday is going to be lawn day.

    Howdy all!

Have been on painkillers pills for that heel pain, which ultimately wasn’t anything serious but quite uncomfortable. So I have not been drinking much if at all, stopping by and saying hello with 1664 though:

Being « high » on the pills and sober felt good.. so I did another drawing to pass time. I’m still not super happy about it, it’s not kindergarten stuff but lacks some details. Ah well.

    Cheers!

Thats good, dude. It reminds me of something I might see on a label from a Belgian style brewery. Simplistic but also relaxing to look at. Glad your heel is okay as well.

Nice beer and nice drawing! The 1664 NA version is also top notch.

Thanks! Out of those “mainstream French beers”, I believe that 1664 is quite fine. 1664 Blanche was also surprisingly good.

Speaking of mainstream French beers, here’s the antithesis of it; a French WCDIPA. Simcoe and Sabro hops for a well crafted one at 8% ABV. Cheers!

    Hi all Advocates!
Wow! Something has changed ... New logo graphics?
As soon as I have a decent connection I will look at what I have been missing these days.
I'm on the island, at a holiday home in Sardinia.
Without wi-fi, without telephone (except for photos and basic and sporadic communications with the rest of the world), in peace with nature and away from the hustle and bustle.
I have a little disconnected from everything and I am resting and enjoying the time.
I have brought a good load of beers and I am reviewing them from time to time, I will put them up here when I have more means to do it in a comfortable way.
    Some, recorded, to be transcribed.
Just after booking the return to the home base for September 4th ... I share one of the beers drunk here (precisely on August 14th).
Greetings to all and I hope you can understand my absence in these days!

Vault City Brewing (Edinburgh, SCO) - BLUEBERRY SESSION SOUR - Fruit Sour (4.5%)

Session Sour with local Scottish blueberries.
    33 cl bottle (€ 5.09).
"Best before: 02/12/2023, drunk on 08/14/2021.
As soon as you open it seems to have opened in a jar of blueberry jam, of those with real blueberries (like in Trentino) and a slight tartaric tip.
Versata has a pinkish color, quite opaque ("dirty") when viewed against the light.
Foam practically non-existent due to its rapid evanescence.
In the mouth sweet and succulent blueberry entry, followed by a pungent tartaric tip, almost reminiscent of a rosé wine, which cleans the mouth and allows the blueberry to pervade the palate long after drinking.
    Fluid and smooth body.
The taste of the blueberry (the wild fruit, not extracted or reductions) is almost "sticky" on the lips, almost like a jam, but in reality the extremely smooth body and that bit of acid, evident and not intrusive, lighten the beer enhancing the main taste and making the drink extremely light and thirst-quenching.
Extraordinary how the blueberry taste remains for a long time on the palate, without it having any sense of pastiness in the mouth thanks to the cleaning that reacts that sour note that is slightly astringent, but not invasive at all ... it performs its function perfectly.

No rain today! :sunglasses: Managed to get the lawn mowed without stroking out since it cooled down a bit.

    Cooling off with Yuengling Porter.

Thank you @LarryV for your bonus set of music yesterday, all the songs were great, really tight bands. Like the one with the woman singer the best, Move Over! You've played songs from this band in the past, much obliged.

Done with morning errands. Another last pint in my fridge beer.

    Beer is still going strong!

1988, going strong on Two for Tuesday, doesn't get more cheesy, nor more nostalgic, than these two unmistakable songs from that great year!

PS - Love your post and pictures @Jack_14 ! Hope you enjoy the rest of your epic trip!
