So here is a new bar that is opening up in my neighborhood.

Called Big Owl Craft Brew House...going to be the typical 25 or so taps that rotate. Though, they are going to also be the new tap room for Turkey Forrest Brewing, which is a brand new brewery. Should this be two Place entries, for each, or just one? It seems like Turkey Forrest is looking to get its own brick and mortar spot, so would I add both with the same address and update the address for the brewery once it moves (edit, and I'm not sure if we can have two open spots with the same address, so that might answer my question). Or add Big Owl as a brewery and bar by itself for now?

I would add them as two separate entities. Bog Owl would just be a bar, Turkey Forrest would be a brewery with a bar.

It wont matter if they have the same address - and we can add details into the notes.

Semi-related question: A new brewery opened up in the location of an old brewery, with the same name. How do I add that? list it as New XYZ Brewery?

Seems like some of the beers have the same names as before, but I don't know if they're following the old recipes. And there are new beers that weren't made before.

Then I would add it as a new place and put in the notes s note about it being a new brewery using the old location and name.

Just my 2 cents... but it's hard to say without knowing the specifics. If it's just a change in ownership, it's perhaps not even worth changing anything. If it's a revival after a break in existence, perhaps mention it in the notes, retire all of the old beers, and add "pre-2021" if needed (like the Sierra example below). If it deserves to be listed as a totally different thing, then "close" the old brewery listing, retire all of those beers, and clearly put in the notes section a link to the new listing (whatever it takes to avoid confusion).

If you give people a tiny opportunity to make a mistake when entering a review, they'll take it. I was just looking at the retired pre-collab Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest here. The name of the beer here isn't subtle: "Octoberfest (pre-2015)" and the notes state in caps: "DO NOT REVIEW THE 2015 VERSION HERE." Despite all of that, some people have been putting reviews there annually (albeit a small number). 3 reviews from 2020? I don't get it. Seems like it would take work to make that mistake. (There were recipe changes pre-2015 that didn't get a new listing here.)

Having two different listings with the same name, at the same address, and with some of the same beers can be a recipe for disaster (or at least a bad user experience ).

Not that I'm a big fan of super hero movies, or Rotten Tomatoes at all. A friend of mine is though, so we still talk about it. THE Suicide Squad just came out which he likes a lot, seems with good reason, but I haven't seen it. Which is a completely different move than Suicide Squad (from 2016), my friend noticed there are reviews from the new movie on the 2016 listing on Rotten Tomatoes (its obvious which one they meant, as they call out the directors name), and yet they still put it on the wrong listing ha.

Yeah,I agree. I submitted a Closed notice for the old one, and will submit the new one in a few days. Except for name and location, everything is different. Their basic IPA used to be about 6 percent, and the new version is 8%. I'll get it re-entered.

We would obviously not have two open entries, the old one would be closed and a note added to that entry directing users to the new entry. The new entry would explain the details and be where people can add beers.

So you are saying it’s will be like a taco inside of a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream!
