Phase Three Brewing (2021)

Yeah, I’ve lost track of those. It seems that whenever P3 does a BA collab, it always gets released in the other brewery’s market with nothing making it back to Lake Zurich. I’m sure members might have had an opportunity.

Also looking at Untappd, looks like some non-collab BA bottles called “1&2”? Interesting. Looks recently released too.

 

Does the “Nectar” series use lactose to get such a thick smoothie like texture?

Really hard to find information about this on Phase three’s website, beeradvocate, & Untappd.

 

As far as I recall Nectars have no lactose and get the texture from literal gallons upon gallons of fruit puree. The Chantilly Milkshake IPAs on the other hand are the ones with Lactose. But someone can correct me if I'm wrong. P3 cans say "Dairy Free" on the side of them if they don't contain lactose.

 

I thought that Chantilly series was the only beers that P3 brew with lactose, but couldn’t verify it. Had a Nectar beer tonight & it really bothered me like every single beer containing lactose does. (I am lactose intolerant is why I am looking into this)

 

The Creme series does as well. AFAIK, Nectar doesn’t, though some do contain vanilla but they list that on the can.

 

Can anybody compare Curvature b9 vs. Henna Double Rainbow?

 

Yeah this is all correct as far as I know. The very initial two fruit smoothies Shaun brewed at More (not canned) did contain lactose. But subsequent batches didn’t contain lactose.

 

Had a little of the triple ipa last night. Really really good stuff

We are ready to throwdown this weekend, I hope you are too.
Friday: 4 Star Artisan is here serving up their handmade sausage creations. We will be dropping our Hazy DIPA collaboration with Other Half Brewing from NY, All Pixel Everything. We also managed to source 8 different draft beers from Other Half Brewing, which will be pouring in the Branch. These beers include everything from a Lager, Barrel Aged Stout, Sour IPA, and of course their big hazy options. They sent us some big hitters, and we can't wait to pour them for you!
Saturday: To celebrate the taproom being open for 1 year, we decided to drop a little heat. We will be unleashing a VERY VERY VERY LIMITED AMOUNT of Barrel 1 & 2, a blend of the first two barrels we ever filled with stout here at P3. This thing is so limited and so special. It will be available only as an ONSITE CONSUMPTION BOTTLE. 1 Per Party, party must be at least 2 people, and must all be present to get the bottle. This will be First come, First Served (THIS IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC). I'd recommend showing up very early to taste this one, it will sell out. On top of that we will have Eunoia Batch 5 Ugandan Vanilla Bean available in 5oz bottle pours (1 Per Person). We will have Que Pasta here to serve you tacos and other fine fare, while Dark Horse will be making wood fire pizzas for the people. We will also have music from the Triple Hops Trio
Barrel 1 & 2
1 & 2 is a very special blend to us. S-001 & S-002, are the very first casks that were filled here at Phase Three. We let them rest for 26 months with minimal temperature control. The resulting, blended beer is full of whiskey, char, subtle smoke, bakers chocolate, and dried fruit.

Sunday: Beer wise, we will just repeat what we did Saturday with the Barrel 1 & 2 On Site consumption bottles and Eunoia Batch 5 pours. Food is TBD.
As for our beer drops this week:
DDH All Pixel Everything - A blend of workhorse recipes, this 8% Double IPA features Citra, Motueka and Nelson Sauvin hops. The hallmarks of a classic are here - big aromas of ripe peach and citrus, finishing just dry enough to warrant repeat servings.
Ornamental Saison - our first Farmhouse Ale. The 6.5% ABV is veiled behind a curtain of yeast and malt expression, light and delicate but firm and nuanced.
P3 Pils - Our mostly year-round 4.7% American-Style Pilsner Lager is very lightly hopped, providing a nice balance to the malt - see why Untappd users have been throwing so many bottle caps at it.

 

So needless to say, P3 Taproom will be an insane madhouse this weekend.

I believe it just poured at another fest too. I don’t think it will be available for Ambassadors this weekend (I could be wrong). It wouldn’t fit how they’ve done their other allocations through Oznr in terms of a heads up

 

It was poured at BUG. Was my least favorite of the eunoias yet. Too much maple.

 

They have modified this to stretch out the Barrel 1&2, now no individual bottles and only 5oz pours, limit one per person. Will still be a shitshow though I assume.

 

If they aren’t enforcing table time limits, there are going to be a lot of pissed people glaring at the tables made up of two bros squatting on tables all day.

 

Showed up at 3 and the back room was half empty. Granted, the Other Half beers had kicked besides the lager. But the BA stouts were still going so that’s a win

 

Not so secret Pressed drop - Caramel Macchiato. Coming out next week, available at the tap room now. Not on any tap room list or menu.

Tap Room isn’t too busy, still pouring 1&2.

1&2 is amazing- super thick, fudgy, with a hint of smoky spiciness. Sad to only have one pour, but for the best. The star for me though was DDH All Pixel Everything. Holy shit, what a perfect beer, creamy, smooth, with a good hop bite. Don’t miss this one.
