Hopefully breweries start sticking it to HPA and stop making Galaxy beers. The quality of that hop is horrible now. Total Russian roulette. Could be Passion Fruit candy or sawdust/licorice. They blend all the hops and don’t let brewers select, regardless of how big you are. Trillium definitely has contracts but with the total hit and miss aspect of it for the last 3-4 years they’re probably gun shy about it. Especially when the price of that hop is more than just about any other hop. Hard to blindly shell out $$ when it could be literal trash.

Yeah I need to see at least two other hops combined with Galaxy in a beer description based on how bad the recent batches have been. All-galaxy beers are still a no from me, dawg.

DDH Congress Street was my favorite beer of all time 5 years ago when it showcased my favorite hop at the time (galaxy), but I don't even seek it out now. True I'd probably consider it "lesser than" now anyway due to the changes in process since brewing everything out of Fort Point, but it is not just that - the hop crops are definitely trash compared to back then. I couldn't tell you whether the beer was last released 2 weeks ago or 2 years ago.

I also fucking love Nelson. This is good, the Mosaic adds something, I also fucking love Mosaic as well so, yeah. If you have liked any of the Nelson double IPA’s (Cutting Tiles or Dot Ave) they have put out lately this is right there.

Even has lacing. Some might say this might be something different for Trillium, big if true!

Has anyone been blocked by Trillium on Instagram for making a critical post? I asked the question, " So, I have to buy 8 cans of beer to participate in the JC east coast/west coast experiment?"

I thought this "fun experiment" would be more customer centered if they offered a 2/2 4 pack. I guess we can't have that idea out there...not as profitable. Yuck!

They removed the comment and blocked me.

As a long time customer/supporter, I really hope they go back to selling single cans soon. I've found myself going there significantly less lately because I prefer getting a variety of different beers but don't always want 4 of the same beer. That was always one of the great things about Trillium - being able to load up on a ton of different options, 1 or 2 cans at a time.

100% this. I've purchased little to no Trillium in the past 12-18 months because I'd rather not be stuck with a 4-pack of [insert beer name here]. I've been spending far more (than I would like to admit) at Fort Point Market and breweries like Stoneface that allow purchase of individual cans.

I'm just hearing of this - this drops my interest in going significantly. I used to love picking up 2 of each of whatever they had.

I've hardly been anyway in the last couple of years because there continues to be something seriously wrong with their IPAs. But I don't think they care so much unfortunately as long as the crowds keep coming.

Hell yeah. Very few breweries still do it. Gotta love fox farm for it. Makes the trip worthwhile to get all that variety.

Heading to Trillium to get a four pack of Thresh and a four of Pilsner. Want to get a four pack of something hoppy too, but want something that is drinking good right now at 7% ABV or less. Any suggestions? Trying to avoid palate destroying hop astringency if at all possible. Any one have an opinion on the West Coast IPA, My Name is JC? Thanks.
