Another rainy day here in Upstate NY.

 

Through the generosity of @colby600 I have this . . .

Bluster Imperial IPA from Fox Farm Brewery

Hazy golden color with small white cap and good lacing.

Aroma is a burst of citrus including zest with sweet malt in the background.

Taste is fuller than the scent with citrus, malt and hops in balance. I get these three flavors presented all at once and that carries through to the finish which is clean. Slightly sharp hop sensation in the aftertaste which manages to be both full and dry. Quite refreshing.

Medium velvety texture with balancing carbonation.

Another shining example of skill shown by the brewers at Fox Farm.

Finishing up yesterday’s bottle - BBA Dark Star: Coffee Cacao Vanilla (2021):



A little more bitter, and dry oaky barrel than I typically want, but no denying the strong coffee presence. Cheers y’all!

 

Work Force Humongous Chungus BA Imperial Stout (toasted coconut, Madagascar vanilla bean, Ghana cacao nib in Buffalo Trace barrels). Leaves more to be desired with the adjuncts, but does have a nice barrel character. Not as good as I expected, but still very enjoyable and a great way to start my day off.

More gorgeous weather today - sure cannot complain as the weather has been awesome for my long 5 day holiday weekend - little rain Sunday morning, but otherwise cool, sunny and pleasant!

Got hike 3 (Sunday afternoon) and 4 this morning in on the annual Fall Hiking Spree I do here every year - we have awesome parks here - and this is the longest running and most popular hiking spree of its kind in the US

Morning and Happy Labor Day BA's! Overtime offered but the wife and I both took today off. Fire is underway and the ribs and burgers will follow. Bell's Two Hearted since (gasp!!!) I'm out of Jai Alai. I refuse to buy it 8 weeks old when the brewery is 80 miles from here. My wifes mom (89 yrs old) took a small fall the other day and is in the hospital for a couple days to make sure everything is fine. So I said to my wife, just say the word and we'll have you up there (NH) this afternoon. She said, and I quote "if I go you're going, that way we can bring beer back". #MARRIEDTHERIGHTONE!!
