I'm kicking off Monday with a Flying Fish Abbey Dubbel. It's solid with notes of candy sugar, molasses and caramel. Maybe a bit sweet for me. Cheers and happy Labor Day!!

 

Large glass of Altbier from the tap and a homemade chili with added IPA. The IPA smoothed out the heat from the grilled chili peppers.

Name the actor and in what TV show this was in and I'll invite you to drive to my place to help drain two kegs, the other of hazy IPA.

Pora NEIPA from Fox FarmBrewery

Hazy medium yellow color with white cap and good lacing.

Aroma of sharp, herbal hops and equally sharp citrus.

Taste of citrus fruit, I get something like grapefruit including the zest, along with herbal, bitter hops. The hop bitterness is constrained but ever present. Citrus elements seem to make up about 40% of the flavor profile with hops making up the remainder. Malt is there as a supporter but leaves the other flavors dominant. Finish is quick, clean, refreshing and slightly lingering.

Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

I like this one, it'll do whenever I feel like having a beer.

A couple of Oktoberfest biers are up now. First is Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest Marzen. It's a proper example of the style. Very good in all aspects. Caramel and bakery notes. I rated it 4.02, right on its BA average of 3.98.

 

Damn Dave, you peddled my arse into the ground!

 

Fast became my favorite Metropolitan beer, when it finally became available in these parts. Heliostat Zwickel Lager. Yum! Recognized Jack Elam right away. Show?
