Good day BAs! Off to another cool and damp start to the day - good thing I picked tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers yesterday. The apple crop has fallen off to about half a bucket daily so the yellow jacket threat level has also dropped. Today's Breakfast Beer threat level is:

It burns! It burns! But then it always did, but in a good way. I must say, I prefer the 12 oz cans over the 22 oz bombers.

I used the “wants” feature on this site in the past. I didn’t really use it for trading, exactly, and now that I no longer “trade” through the mail, it’s sort of just a remnant. However, I seemed to recall this brewer was on my list, still. When sorting their beers, I (correctly) guessed it was their Gose I had on the list. However, I didn’t see any Lost Nation Gose at the store (saw a few other sours, though).

Since the GF and I like Mosaic IPAs, and I’d seen it posted enough, we went for this conciliation prize:

It works fairly well for me, and the GF agrees (though she likes Sip of Sunshine more).

Good morning BAs, and thanks to @Ozzylizard for starting us off today…finishing off last night’s bottle - Cycle’s Just Macadamia BBA Stout Cuvee (2020):

Poured at 58°. Chocolate fudge, bourbon and sweet macadamia nuts. Cycle makes some of the best barrel aged stouts, imo…

Waiting for a call back to schedule my shoulder surgery, otherwise a quiet day. Cheers and have a great day y’all!

    Hello everyone,
I'm posting you some material from this summer, which I'm slowly transcribing when I come back from holiday...
I drank this beer last August 18th, at 8 pm, on the rocks in Northern Sardinia, the beach of "Baia Santa Reparata", descending on the rocks from the dirt parking lot, among junipers and myrtle plants, which is located on the side of the main road that passes next to the platform where you go down to the beach.
    It was a mistral day.

Brasserie St. Germain / Page 24 (FRA) - IMPERIAL STOUT COCO - Imperial Stout (11%)

    Imperial Stout with “coco râpée”.
    33 cl bottle, (€ 3.36).
"To be consumed preferably by: the end of October 2022".
Freshly uncorked, immediately a strong toasted note sweetened by toasted coconut.
Poured is black, impenetrable, surmounted by a beige foam, very abundant and soft.
It's a sight to see how the beer rises harmoniously, with the waves crashing on the coastal rocks in the background.
In addition to the toasted, there is also a clearer scent of chocolate and still distinctly coconut.
The foam that remains to act as a "hat" accompanying the beer throughout the drink is very tasty (coffee, licorice reflections).
The body is soft, enveloping, "creamy", anything but aggressive.
The first hints that pervade the palate are of cocoa beans and dark chocolate, with evident notes of toasted malt that refer to coffee.
A delicate and very pleasant taste of coconut emerges in the background that “fades” the aggressive taste of the bitter chocolate and toasted hints of the malts, making the finish of this beer sweet and lovable. I also keep feeling a slight tinge that reminds me of licorice.
This beer can be sweet, delicate but tasty with the taste of malts perfectly balanced by the taste and sweetness of coconut. Soft, creamy or rather "creamy" (referring precisely to that sense of softness of whipped cream for example), sweet but absolutely not pasty.
The alcoholic note is absolutely hidden and I would not say 11% beer at all.
I had the beer in the fridge and I made it dilute by taking it in the thermal lifter for half an hour, it was still fresh and as it got closer to room temperature in the glass, the sweet note obviously began to stand out more, but it was still appreciated that final note of coconut that made it really very tasty and pleasant to drink for my personal taste.

Round one goes to Heady over the Focal from last night :astonished:

The Heady is only a week old, but has a bit more bitterness that I am looking for at this juncture in time.

...got a call from my last place of work...they're short-handed and need some help, so, nice guy that I am (sort of), I'll go in around 2 PM to sell bird seed and moose magnets...silly me thinking that going fully-retired nearly two years ago was a dream-come-true...really, all I had planned for the day was to give the lawn a haircut and do some metal work with 5.56 NATO cases, but duty calls...well, more cash for beer later this week...
