I agree. It's an option they would not have otherwise.

I mean this is a goddamn hysterical sentence:

Will children better be able to treat women with respect and themselves adept to ever-changing gender dynamics? No. Will children sleep easier knowing that if, god forbid, they're badly hurt or sickened that their hospital bills will be eased? Also no. Will disadvantaged children have better access to foods or medicines they need? Still no. But I'll tell you what -- they're gonna be able to juggle three to four of any object you put in front of them. And that's invaluable.

I disagree. such charities should be supported 100%. But I don't think it would have come off very well given the way Shaun has responded to what was said about him.

Circus Smirkus Camp is located in Greensboro, so clearly they are looking to support a local program. All of the recipients you listed are great, but they have a very large national reach and wouldn't benefit as much from $1000.00 in donations (for example) as a small, local, organization. I can't imagine very many HF fans are going to pass on the refund + $20.00 in store credit.

"At Smirkus Camp, kids develop new ways to challenge themselves, learn skills like teamwork and problem solving, get terrific physical conditioning, AND enjoy fun summer camp traditions like singalongs, costume themed dinners, kickball, and more! Smirkus Camp is a great place to clown around, have a blast, and make lasting friendships with campers from all over the United States."

Good point, I didn't consider the size factor.

Honestly it's still a little hilarious... but it's definitely not super objectionable or anything.

Also, you've got to consider the size of the community. There are fewer than 1000 residents in Greensboro. Everyone knows everyone and folks try to help each other out. Circus Smirkus has been around a while and I'd imagine they're struggling right now given the pandemic. It makes perfect sense to me why HF would support a hyperlocal charitable organization.

Hopefully next time HF consults BA for an approved list of charities worthy of getting beer festival ticket refund money.

Giving back to a small local non profit= giving back to the local community=keeping the local community happy. Not to mention Circus Smicus is a great organization that provides a positive opportunity for kids whom”might not fit in” in the typical school setting. Believe it or not Not all in the Greensboro/ Craftsbery area are happy with the amount of out of state traffic Hillfarmstead brings to the area, especially during covid. In reality the measurable economic gains are limited to a few local businesses. Most visitors come buy beer head back to Stowe, Waterbury, Burlington, or home.

Agreed. Gatekeepers Anonymous is doing God’s work, and would be a worthy cause for next time

Went up last Friday. The online reservation system is absolutely awesome (if you can actually get one). I mean, this was a Friday of a holiday weekend and other than the initial orders, I never waited more than a minute to get something from the bar. Got to sit out in the field, sipping a Damon in an act of conscious consumption, life is good.

Bottle shop process was smooth, as well. Probably helped that there wasn't a huge release this week, but still, was basically in and out.

Alternations quite often do little for the core, yielding inferior results and second-rate stability. Despite the battle, some stand out among the others -

Unblemished articulation on raspberry, with a rear subtlety on creaky – mossy - stoneware, as timeworn nudges two years. The involvement is an esterification of fruit and spices, alongside a hop effect that drills mildly-seeded grounds, while comingling with horsey polyphenols. Sulfates compartmentalize a mineral component to marine life throughout, as soft malt works toasted grains to backcountry wheat. To that end, a technique that opts for a smooth cleanness on jam funk, with an oak tannin heel on dryness, as opposed to the inharmonious shackle of puckered acerbity

The approach does not try to push convolution over the additive, but rather keeps that density in back to be stirred by age-old rusticity, and clocked agitation from environmental conditioning
