@VABA told me to have fun fishing. I did. Caught bluefish, blue catfish, 2 stingrays and a flounder 1" under legal limit...bummer. Also trapped a few blue claw crabs.

 

Oktoberfest from Ghost River Brewing

Light clear gold color with white cap and step lacing as the glass is drained.

Aroma is primarily sweet malt, a bit caramely, with spicy floral hops in the background.

Taste is rich malt forward with the lightly sweet malt backed up by slightly roasted munich malt which gives it a bit of a toasty roasty taste. Hops hang in the background until the finish where they put a snap closure on the aftertaste. Malt comes right up to the edge of over richness when pulled up short by the hops which hold a firm grasp on the leash to the end.

Texture is fuller than medium but it's a restrained weight.

Overall this is a good effort deserving a B grade. It doesn't really do more than what the other B grade Oktoberfest do but it's worth at least a try or two.

Happy Sunday BA's! Usual OT, bike ride, hauled yard waste to the dump. Jai Alai and starting a fire to cook chicken, pork tenderloin and finally burgers for lunch. May your teams win today!

Burley Oak Aboriginal Gangster IPA

 

Fun day of drinking beer at 3 different breweries with a group of my friends yesterday, so I’m taking it easy today…a local lager in the hotel pool - Magnanimous Brewing’s “Crown” pale lager:



I’ve had this beer before, crisp clean, light; a good 4.5% poolside pounder. Not sure what I’ll do today, maybe soak up a little sun, maybe go to a Tampa brewery, maybe watch some football … Cheers and have a great day y’all!

UA Untitled Art N/A morning beer, as usual. The "west coast IPA" [sic] which I like well enough.

Got my last 10 mile run in before the half-marathon next Saturday. We'll see how it goes; sore inner leg and some blistering bothering me. But that's for a different website.
