I'm moving to Chicago on New Year's Eve this year - in the lakeview area. Anybody have any recommendations? Might be obvious, but I'm new to BA as well (lurking for a while) - so probably looking for some general rec's as well! Thanks!
my only advise is don't expect to get a cab after midnight, I think I almost died one year..luckily the booze saved me from hypothermia...but the endless packs of girls wearing practically nothing and walking in heels in sub-zero weather waving desperately at passing cabs in vain..all dead
My suggestion is find a dive that isn't doing a package and hang out there, and make sure you can get home either by walking or by CTA, because good luck getting cabs.
I think Shefield's is having a ticketed NYE party. That would probably be the most beer-centric of that sort of thing. I second the forget getting a cab after midnight unless you luck into one.
