Well shit. I cannot figure out what the beer I'm posting about actually is. The label on the crowler I bought at Ridgewood Bottle & Tap two days ago says, in its hand-written entirety, "SINGLE HILL/CRUX FH RODEO RDI IPA 6.7%" but I can find conflicting "fresh hop rodeo" and other related listings, but nothing that seems like it fits RDI. WTF am I drinking? I don't know. But I'll tell you about it.

32oz crowler served in a snulip. Light golden amber color, smallish head, moderate to light haziness. Smell is vegetal, moderate to light honeysuckle, moderate to strong resinous bitterness.

Taste is far on the vegetal side. There is some graininess, and if I try to spin it and I can make myself perceive melon rind, but it mostly tastes like vegetable matter.

Mouthfeel is medium to light, pretty dry. Overall, it's a fair to middling FH IPA.

Been a while since I checked in with this thread. So finally after 20 months I am back in the office, but actually it was just one day and I work at home remote for the time being. Got myself a nice Townhouse and I am 15 minutes from Volvo truck. My gf will me moving in November, and I am flying her down next weekend for our 1 year anniversary of our first date. Today is the one year since I asked her out on a date over the phone. It was pretty long distance to start so that made it easy now for the transition to NC. She did live with me for 5 months. Got my 2 cats here with me too. Steg will come with Julia.

I have a couple beers left from @Shanex back in Jan and this is a tripel. No beers were listed when I found the brewery listing so I took care of it. This was a great tripel. Great head retention and sticky lacing. Aromas and flavors of big lemon, pear, red apple, peppercorn, clove, and light banana/bubblegum; cracker pilsner malt backbone; herbal, woody, grassy, light piney hops. Light-moderate bitterness and peppery yeast spiciness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation and body; fairly crisp, lightly creamy and grainy notes; lingering sticky hops with light residual sweetness. Mild lingering warmth of 8.1%. This is very spot on for a tripel, which is pretty much my favorite style. 4

My new beer for tonight is Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier. Poured from an enormous can at fridge temp into a giant Paulaner mug. Pours a nice golden transparent yellow. Good amount of white head that goes away within a minute.

Nose: Oranges, wheat, grass, crisp corn,

Taste: Super smooth. Sweet upfront, but a definite hoppy bitterness on the back end. Orange peel, grass, bread, a touch of spice, and a floral note. Very enjoyable.

Mouthfeel and overall: Light and crisp. Very refreshing. Overall, a very nice drinkable beer. As far as Oktoberfest beers go, this would land somewhere in the middle for me.

    look: 3.75 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 4 | overall: 4
