Totally understand and agree. Gotta have the funds to make the great beers!
Also good to hear about the reservation system staying in place.

Had Thresh on draft at Trillium earlier this week. Solid, but I’d take basically any of FF’s lagers over it. Trillium’s new place in Canton is really nice, though.

The Trillium Canton location is indeed really, really nice. Thresh is quite good too.

I'm planning to visit Fox Farm next weekend with the family. Thinking about staying around New Haven for a night. Do I need to make a reservation early to make sure they have space for us? Any recommendations where to stay are also very welcome. Thanks!

You may want to make a reservation in advance, they allow it up to 14 days in advance so you should be clear to pick a time.

I wanna say it's reservation only, and even if not, if you show up there during peak fall with people wanting to spend time on a beautiful property like that I'm gonna say 0.0% chance there's open space when you get there. I'd absolutely make the res.

Yeah, I'm definitely making a reservation. My question is: should I do it now not knowing exactly my plans yet, or it would be still possible in a few days? Also curious when it is less likely to be crowded: Saturday morning or Sunday morning?

I would say do it now. Takes two minutes, no credit card required. Easy to edit or cancel.
Go ahead and make a reservation for both days and then cancel the one you don’t need.

Thanks, everyone, I made a reservation for Saturday. If you choose from the current cans for preorder, which ones would you be your favorite? My thinking, for now, is to get a 4-pack of each since I never had anything.

Depends on what style you prefer of course, but for D/IPAs I would go with Near & Far and Wile. Burst is sort of their flagship IPA so maybe that too. Woodline is a great oatmeal stout. And for sure a bottle or two, Annata is fantastic. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks! I'm into non-IPAs these days, but my wife is very much IPAs only drinker, so I just ordered all cans to try for now. I'm sure we won't be disappointed.

Just making sure that you're aware that you can buy single cans. There's no need to buy in multiples of 4 if you don't want to.

Yes, I'm aware, but it seems unwise not to get at least a 4-pack considering that I won't be back soon. I'll probably regret not getting more.

Obviously a matter of personal taste, but my all time favorite from Fox Farm is their Bier de Garde. And I’m definitely an IPA drinker.

A place that sells singles doesn't have 4-packs

I wasn't a huge fan of Susurrus or Annata. The other bottles sound interesting. Of the IPAs, I think Pe'a would be most interesting to me. I had Pora, their pale ale with Riwaka, and I loved it. I'd love to see what they do with a bigger base to feature that hop. Near and Far is a once a year release so that could be cool. I would probably get a 1,000 cans of The Cabin but all of their lagers that I've had have been at least good.

I thought Mantel was fantastic. Full review on this site. Can't believe it's still kicking around. If it's still available when I next head down, I'll grab more!
