CANBIF - FALL 2021!!!

Wow. I have fallen behind and have to get my ass in gear...

If someone out there is concernec about what they are sending mem don't worry. I like everything. Except rap. Ok fine, everything beer. Huge sour fan, anything BA & used to be all about the freshest IPAs but now you can find them on every corner...

As for my target, I will be throwing a box together towards the 9th (and last as of now) province I visited, back for Canada 150!

I no longer log what I've tried, so no links to any sites or accounts here.

I'm a big fan of big malty beers like imperial stouts, barleywines, wee heavies, doppelbocks, eisbocks, Scotch ales, etc. that are in the >9% ABV range. Barrel-aged versions are great, adjuncts are good in my book, etc. We are getting into the cooler months!

I do like hoppy beers-- I'm always down to try a good IPA/DIPA/TIPA (while I do enjoy hazy ones, I prefer them to have bitterness). West Coast IPAs are also good, they have the bitterness I like.

I'm also a big fan of Belgian-style beers in general, especially bitter hoppy saisons. This includes Brett saisons, etc. Mixed-ferm things are great, as long as if they contain bacteria, they're at-most, tart. Lambic and spontaneously-fermented beers are neat. That being said, I'm not a big fan of "sours", I'd prefer a hoppy lager or low-ABV English ale to one of these, tbh.

Generally, any good versions of classic styles are well-received. Decocted lagers, open-fermented saisons and English ales, etc. If you think it's a great beer, I'll probably like it as well.


To my recipient: We both like a lot of the same beers. You live in a central area, and have some pretty cool breweries (and wineries) in your region! I'll do my best to check the boxes-- I'm almost done filling the volume requirement.

To my sender, I am pretty easy to please. I definitely enjoy trying new beers/brewery, but identify as a fanboy for anything hype. There isn't too much that I don't like, but I'm not seeking super sour/acid reflux bombs. Variety is typically appreciated and I do quite enjoy well crafted lagers.

Thank you in advance, I'm sure I will love whatever selection that is curated for me. The anticipation of receiving a box and opening it is what keeps me coming back...haha.

hey hey... as always late to post... work plus getting things in order for an upcoming trip.

To my sender, I'm a ticker, my untappd profile should have most of what I've consumed. I'm into trying new brews, new breweries, funky, wild, dark, or diabetic causing brews. Surprise me =) Additionally open to meads and ciders.

To my target, looks like our beerterests align somewhat, though dissapointing you aren't a fan of a particular style I very much enjoy. Appears you're new to untappd... so guess I've got my work cut out to impress from the west. Cheers for now...

The first box was supposed to belivred next week but CP is giving me the update for an "out for delivery". To my Target, it wasn't difficult to find good bottles/cans for you. You have acces to bottles we don't have there and some from US. I've took care of that and I'm pretty sure you will enjoy the beer. This is the first time I'm sending a box in your town. I hope your NHL team will have more succes this year

So after a mini vacation, and some help, a nice "Atlantic" package is starting to take shape. My target also appears to be a ticker, so I'll likely send a larger number of cans. Which is good, because bombers aren't as plentiful as they used to be! I'll be rounding out the selection of styles this week and will ship next Tuesday (the 19th). You live in a city I did work terms in, and I've sent to before.

 

There is a box heading in an easterly direction at 9.8 m/s.

 

My first box was sent today. I just took advantage of Canada Post Tuesday offer. A second box will be sent next Tuesday. This box is going in a mining village on an island. The mine might have disappeared since!

 

My recipients box is off and away for its long voyage from the Pacific coast to the Atlantic coast.

 

At least it's not accelerating!
