Lunch done - just gave Emma a long overdue "doggo bath" in the shower.....going to be doing some other house chores this afternoon....

why are Prairie beers so $$?

 

Kronenbourg 1664 with lunch.

Clear light golden color with white cap and good lacing.

Aroma of sweet malt and floral, spicy hops.

Very clean simple grain flavors lightly spiced with hops. Taste at first is grain forward quickly joined by hops flying alongside. Like a perfect grilled cheese sandwich here simple components are elevated by skilled execution. This beer is very well made and beautifully balanced.

 

Ever had a fresh, dried, wet hop beer? Me either until now. Per Diem Pale from Single Hill lists all those things on the label. So confusing.

 

Nice pairing.
My own humidor has been empty for some years by now. A beer like this would make a great occassion to light a Churchill or something like it. If I had one

Galaxy is one of my favorite hops. Had to try this one. Good stuff.

 

Had a Thin Man pilsner at Malt & Mold earlier. So so.

Now at Grimm. New Blue Goo spontaneous dry-hopped with Mosaic is good. Gathering Stone Fruit is very good.

Wife has Open Work 2020 and Open Work Tart Cherry and Raspberry. They're both excellent.

 

Home from errands. Still no packaged fresh hop beers to be found. Jai Alai from 9/15 will have to do

I wondered the same thing. Last weekend I had a “Sunday Service” for 14$ a 12 oz and was very underwhelmed. Definitely won’t be doing that again, at least not with that beer. Cheers.

Apparently they have not yet opened their indoor space yet today, and they use plastic outside. Non-ideal...but the beer is good

 

TSA out here would never allow that on the plane. He musta checked it in his baggage.

 

Tra La La, mixed culture biere de miel with buckwheat honey. Still at Grimm. Light, clean, nice.

 

A chilly 26° this morning, so I'm drinking a white stout.
Official snowfall yesterday was 9" and with the warm ground it's melting fast.
