Probably primarily based on state laws allowing beer from out of state to be shipped to individuals via whatever carrier SN uses.

The brand's gone through a couple of different US importers in the past decades - currently it's St. Killian but they don't bring in the Porter, at least they don't mention it on their website and there's no recent label approval.

I wouldn't mind trying this, but I'm afraid I'd be in for a major disappointment after having tried Forager's Basket of Puppies. (Man, talk about your Almond Joy bar in a glass! :yum:)

Besides, I'll never see it anyway.

Yep - sorry, but I AM buying local and hoppy - and NOT paying $15-18 typically

Just bought 2 wet hopped Fatheads brews - 4 pks - both $12.99 here

A 4 pk of a non-barrel aged 8% porter does not fly for me for that kind of price point - then you have to pay for exorbitant shipping on top of that

To each their own....."a beer geek and his $$ are soon parted"

    It's fermented with lager yeast...

It first appeared in our Beer Camp program back in 2010ish, they wanted a flavored Baltic Porter using locally sourced almonds and tasting like Almond Joy... We now make it every year in collaboration with Maisie Jane's Almonds here in Chico. They feature it during the Sierra Oro Farm Trail Days which is a celebration of Butte County farming.

Correct, the states we ship to are the ones that allow for cross state shipping of malt beverages. Much different and much more limited than the wine industry... They have better lobbyist.

Terence, do you happen to know if 'improving' the shipment of beer for retail is a priority of the Brewers Association? Is the Brewers Association doing anything here to make this situation better?

    Cheers!

There were, maybe still are out of state brewers sending beer to PA. We’re they doing this illegally? Was it only ok during shut down?

    Enjoy

Unless shipping is free, no thanks. I'd love to try it since I can no longer buy SN Porter or Stout.

North Dakota but not Minnesota? Between this and no Northern Hemisphere here, I am fucking done with Sierra Nevada.

Until I pick up Celebration in a week or so.

I got the email earlier today as well. Had the March 2021 release from Mills River. It was okay but a little too sweet and lacking a hop balance to offset the coconut. I have decided to pass and instead pick up the OG SNBC porter for half the price.
    Cheers,
    Tom

I'm not sure, I know there was talk during the beginning of the pandemic but like a lot business/organization they to were hit hard with layoff and restructuring in the last 18 months.

I'm not sure how this is happening... I wonder if it's allowed if there is no contractual agreement with distributors within the state or they are having a distributor or brewery ship the beer within the state for them. Just not sure.
