My New Breakfast Beer is Mystery Beer #1 from @Roy_Hobbs and BIF#14:



Pretty unremarkable to my plebian tastes: rating 3.45, rDev -15.9%.

Ticked off a few whales last night with a buddy, including finally trying KBBS!

 

Kronenbourg 1664 Pale Lager

Very clean simple grain flavors lightly spiced with hops. Taste at first is grain forward quickly joined by hops flying alongside. Like a perfect grilled cheese sandwich here simple components are elevated by skilled execution. This beer is very well made and beautifully balanced.

 

Have a good Saturday. Had an amazing beginning of the week hanging out with @hoptheology at the beach, then drove home on Wednesday morning. Worked the rest of the week as usual, wasn't too busy; and I actually had more luck getting work done in a hotel because the cats were climbing over me in the mean time. My dad drove in town at 430PM on Thursday to stay the night, and we went to Captain Bills which was delicious, but their dishwasher was broke so we ate out of to-go containers. The raw oysters were better than they looked. I got fried scallops and jumbo shrimp. The home fries had sautéed onions in there too. I just had Cheesecake from there this morning at 7AM and it was amazing.






Life is amazing and I have the dream job and salary. Would not be here without either of my parents and I love them.


Still have some nugget nectar from last winter. It's tastes great. Nose does have some nice hop vibrancy but it is a bit faded. Great dank character.

Did some nice early (and chilly) hiking with the pupster around 8 am - one of my fav local metroparks - called Cascade Valley - along the mighty Cuyahoga river.....very scenic - fall colors still not happening all that much - for Oct 23

It is exactly 10 months from canning and been out of the fridge but out of heat and in moving totes for most of that time. I have had far worse dumpster fires of hop fall off after that amount of time. I mean yea I can tell it's a bit duller now, but people who ***** themselves on having cans less than 3 week old need to grow up and wake up to the real world of shelf life in beer.

 

If we don't win by 40 I will be disappointed.
