So I've been vaping delta 8 and playing chess since 8 AM. Probably going to play parkitect later. I am over 5700 puzzle attempts on lichess right now. Not including hundreds more on other platforms, so I might be an intermediate chess player now.

Yuengling Raging Eagle. This is really good! Great fluffy head retention, and spotty soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of juicy mango fruit with some cracker/lightly biscuity malts and herbal/woody/grassy hops. Nose was a lot more vibrant on the authentic mango fruit. Light herbal, woody, grassy bitterness and minimal fruit tartness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; very crisp/clean/refreshing. Perfectly clean lager flavors. No cloying/astringent flavors. This is basically just a Pils with some mango added. I'd take it every day over the amber lager. 3.88

This is one of those “different in a way that’s great” beers.

First, a bluegrass cover of what I didn’t realize was a Beatles’ original. It always seemed like a cover for some reason.

Paul and his other band covering one of my favorites. One of the only times I ever sang onstage was doing a version of this at summer camp.

Braunbier is an auburn-brown lager that has a slightly toasty maltiness, balanced by a sweet breadiness and earthy, floral German noble hops. According to the Bierkeller.


And I enjoyed it.
I sat down to watch some football, and it's like a bomb went off at Old Trafford. Adieu, Ole, Ronaldo.

Chimay Doree (Gold) Belgian Pale Ale

Pale light gold color with excellent white cap and lacing.

Mild aroma that's slightly spicy and slightly sweet. I get a distinct touch of yellow fruit, pear and banana,

I was expecting the taste to be on the mild side but this is an explosively rich taste sensation. When I think of Chimay I think of broad shouldered line busting powerful fullback sort of brews. This is different and I mean that in a very positive way. It actually reminds me of a very high quality sweet white wine such as Chateau d'Yquem or a German Beerenauslese except without the high level of sweetness. I taste the ripe fruit along with fresh yeast rolls balanced by a bright hop sharpness. These elements combine beautifully and harmoniously. Seamless from start to finish with just the perfect length of aftertaste.

Full texture with an over abundance of carbonation that requires a vigorous pour to smooth things out.

I waited for years to find this on the shelf and my patience was rewarded. World class in every respect.

 

Rainy day, so......NFL football, jalapeno and cheese deer sausage, & beer. Leine's Original Lager. Should've used my Fighting Illini glass in honor of Illinois taking down Penn State. The best game Illinois has played in awhile.

Sipping this one from CCB, my first time doing the El Catador club, picked up my first five allotments yesterday and this is the first one I am trying. Quite fantastic.



Smoking my first brisket in the new smoker today for the Sunday Funday festivities. Woke up to this after it got 11 hours of slow smoke overnight, have it wrapped now and it’s in the midst of another 4-8 hours. Excited for the final product!
