Hey folks. Looking on recommendations for places I could kill some time and some beer while in South Boston. Recommendations on places to eat are appreciated as well.

    Thanks in advance!

Trillium fort point borders it as does Row34 in the Seaport. I’d say head there as Southie will offer more of a bar experience with some general offerings(as opposed to crafted tap lists) It’s maybe 5-8 minutes in a Uber. Lincoln’s is kind of cool though in Southie but it’s been a while.

Castle Island Brewing recently opened a brewery in Southie - cool spot with good pizza, worth checking out.

These joints are all booked up for when I'm looking (Friday night). Any idea if they take walk-ins or is it all just reservations?

I always walk in and have been to all of the places recently. They can get crowded though.

I would honestly just head to the Seaport and roll the dice. You're likely not going to get into Row 34 on a Friday night though.

If Trillium is too packed you can head to Smoke Shop (stellar BBQ) or Pastoral (excellent Neapolitan style pizza. Both have solid draft lists (or at least they did pre-Covid).

You should just head into Seaport area for sure. I usually go to Row 34 on Friday/Saturday nights and manage to find a seat at the bar (or wait 10 minutes but they'll serve you while you're waiting).

I would also recommend going to City Tap house, they've really stepped up their beer selection and their Untappd is usually up to date. Good food as well.

What I like at City Tap House is you can get 4 oz. samples of anything (like on a flight, so you pay for it).
