    look: 3.75 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

    Excellent deep mahogany brown body with garnet hues; clear; fair carbonation; thin, patchy light khaki colored head. Earthy sweetness on the nose; dark pitted fruits, leather and tobacco juice. Powerful flavors hit the tastebuds: rasisins and candi sugar; figs and dates; bourbon; nice phenol presence for the style. Heavy body; velvety with a slight syrupy quality; sticky dryness coats the palate.

    Hoppin' Frog is not known to put out wimp beers, and this anniversary ale is no different. It's heavy and complex, especially with its nose and taste. It's a beautifully crafted beast.

    Poured at 50 °F

    ...made some pork fried rice with some leftover mesquite smoked Boston butt (primarily used for my smoked pork chile verde this past Sunday)...forgot the scrambled eggs, but it turned out nicely...Mrs. BeerGoot got some P.F. Chang egg rolls to go with this...

    At the bar drinking PBR since I’m blocked from Fox at home. Paying 2k a year for cable isn’t enough, apparently, and UA sports fans are the ones that are the decision makers for the most part when it comes to cable / satellite purchases, cheers!
