Good day BAS! Yet another rainy morning, although weather rumor has it it may dry up a little today and tomorrow before the weekend rain moves in. Today's New Breakfast Beer is a delicious Impy stout from New England and @Roy_Hobbs in NBS BIF #14:

A delicious BBA impy stout (department of redundancy department), one in which the cap actually gets better as it warms! Thanks Ross! Rating 4.23, rDev +4.7%!

Good morning BAs. Starting off my one and only day off from work with an espresso:

Flying Fish Caramel Espresso Porter. Aroma and taste is malty with strong coffee flavor and a nice hint of caramel. It's very tasty and while I'm glad it's not a sugery dessert beer, it could use a tad more sweetness to better balance out the espresso bitterness.
    Cheers!

Morning, BAs! Last bottle of BC Special #4, but I figure the coffee and bourbon are going to continue to fade with age, and the maple was subtle even when fresh.

Good call, I think. It tastes great now, but I'm not sure it's ever going to taste better.

    Cheers!

A really nice RIS from Real Ale at 9.8% abv. A generous, frothy tan head dissipates slowly to a creamy cap and leaves nice lacing behind. Aroma is toasty, dark dried fruits. The taste carries this as well as some really nice bitter dark chocolate. Creamy smooth.

    Cheers Y'all

Night Shift Whirlpool pale ale, 4.5% - woo hoo, what a flavor at a dollar a can! :beers:

You know when you take that first slurp of foam off the top of some classic west coast IPA and you get hit with a face full of weedy fresh hops? That's Whirlpool for you, only lighter. Oh man, that's the stuff!

This first 1976 tune goes out to @mickyge to celebrate the Orleans opening act he enjoyed back in the day, after his stint as head coach of the Green Bay Packers.

And a second featuring another wonderful singer from the same year.

Good day Advocates! Thanks again @Ozzylizard for today's thread. Had to work last night and have a 3 hr beer-fueled band rehearsal tonite. I'm trying to convince one band member to join BA. He always brings some new juice to the sessions (always MN made brews) and he knows how to break down some aspects of each one/why he likes or dislikes it. I'll keep enticing him. So today is chill with some last bits of winterizing, wrapping up all garden things, shutting off the water spigots, etc. Perfect beer work and weather! Looking VERY forward to returning from SO DAK with a beer lode deluxe. The previous trip was successful.
Summit Triumphant right now. Going outside with the sippy cup. Cheers! Keep on smiling!

Mildly cloudy, pale yellow body; fair carbonation; thick, billowy white head with flecks of foam dotting the inside of the glass. Delicate aroma of lemon and mild Brettanomyces. Nice tart flavor with a bold citrus edge; white pepper and other spices. Medium body; bubbly and coarse on the palate; citrus juiciness with a relatively mild dry finish.

This is a tasty and lively beer, full of character.

Poured at 44 °F; no bottling data noted.

Good Afternoon BA's. A lovely day in WNC with temps in the mid-60's and sunny. Da Boss and i had to endure howling winds the last two days and nights that have finally gone away.
Today's first choice is Greybeard IPA from Pisgah Brewing up the road in Black Mountain, NC. Reminds me of the old school 90's IPA's which the mantra for some was how bitter can we make this beer. Primary hopping was Nugget and it came across very woody and piney with a touch of grapefruit. This was a big departure from the sweeter tropical and citrus brews that is most often available but it was a nice change of pace!
    Cheers,
    Tom
