More classic Houston beers, with Saint Arnold Amber.

And joining @beergoot with some Blue Note 70's reissues...I see he got in a haul of these, and probably has more than I do now :stuck_out_tongue::sunglasses:

    Jackie McLean, Hipnosis.

As I prepare to open a box from @DavetotheB I am now drinking a Lawsons Little Sip with its gas station price on it. That was for a four pack. Cheers!

[IMG] Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup: (All 3 of 3 pairs correctly matched blind)

    1) Bells Oberon Ale (5.8%): A citrus wheat from Michigan that has smooth and gummy flavors of orange citrus and wheat.
    versus
    2) Bell’s Rind Over Matter (5.0%): A citrus and wheat beer from Michigan that has lemon peel and orange zest flavors. A summery citrus spice.

    3) Firestone Walker Oaktoberfest (5.2%): A Marzen-style Oktoberfest from California that has flavors of lightly floral hops, toasted malt, with a faintly oaky finish.
    versus
    4) Boulevard’s Bob ‘47 Oktoberfest (5.8%): A Marzen-style Oktoberfest from Kansas City with flavors of citrus and floral hops atop a smooth toasty caramel malt profile.

    5) Lagunitas Super Cluster IPA (8.0%): An imperial IPA from California with strong Citra hops and flavors of intense mandarin orange.
    versus
    6) Boulevard Space Camper Major Volta IPA (8.8%): An imperial IPA from Kansas City that has flavors of grapefruit, pineapple, peach with a smooth caramel and herbal finish.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    1) Bells Oberon Ale:
Albeit lighter in flavor, this one drinks clean and goes down so smooth, even more so out of the summer season.

    4) Boulevard's Bob '47 Lager:
This one was more robust in terms of hops, body, and toasty flavor profile. Still, pretty average for an American Oktoberfest.

    5) Lagunitas Super Cluster IPA:
While being lower in ABV, this one has stronger aromas and flavors. The Space Camper was okay, but too sweet and malty for the flavor it delivered.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you tried Bells Oberon or Bells Rind Over Matter and which did you prefer?
Have you tried Boulevard Bob '47 Oktoberfest or Firestone Oaktoberfest and what did you think?
Have you tried either of the IPAs, Lagunitas Super Cluster or Boulevard Space Camper Major Volta... which did you prefer?

...I honestly don't know how many I have, but probably 20-25 would be my guess...one of these days I'll organize my vinyl and get a better handle of what I have...

Double Something Nelson from Finback. This is a great example of what Nelson can be, if done right. This is my favorite Finback to date, and I've been publicly harsh on them. Much love, and peace.

    Hey BA's

Was scrounging around down in the beer cellar (otherwise known as the basement)....came across a couple of these 4 year old beers....
Actually held up pretty well - little less "pepper heat" than when fresh....but still good!

Happy hump day, I was pretty busy today with some meetings and such. I got a $200 refurbished laptop from Tigerdirect, and Instant Pot that was on sale 25% off on Amazon. My uncle gave me a gift card. I got a pork loin to roast and then I will put some rice into the Instant Pot.

I got some random 12 pack to review of these last year and never tried one lol. Leinenkugel Spritzen Grapefruit. This was pretty good. Great fluffy head retention and lacing. Aromas and flavors of ruby red grapefruit with light wheat crackery malt and herbal/peppery hops. Light-moderate herbal/grassy/peppery bitterness on the finish. Aromas were a lot more vibrant on the ruby grapefruit notes than the flavors. Well carbonated, crisp, and clean. Very dry finish. Light body with a touch of pilsner-like graininess. Refreshing. Tastes like whatever the base beer is for summer shandy, but cut with seltzer. 3.66

I’ll join my friend @Roguer on the BCBS train today - been a while since I’ve served as the conductor for the BCBS experience.

This is one of those beers, IMHO, where it’s imperative to open the bottle 15 minutes or so before serving to let it breathe a bit and open up as it warms to reveal all of its delicious flavors. World class stuff, again IMHO.
