I have not had anything from SP that was cellared, especially no sours/Saisons. Was looking through some reviews lately, and been seeing some comments about Bleu Cheese funk.

Is this something people are only finding with age (after release) or immediately following release for some of these older-aged beers (prior to release)?

I’m trying to avoid it. I don’t like the funk in any beer, and hate Bleu cheese in general. So, the combo is a super turnoff.

I often get it from brewers that specialize in the funkier stuff, like de Garde and the old world stuff out of Belgium. But it's not always a guaranteed presence, and I think hinges in part on higher hopping rates using aged hops in particular, which is why I guess I sometimes detect it in Jester King. Not many breweries acquire or have the capacity/environment to age hops in burlap sacks, often done in literal barns or attics, but that's not the only factor creating the flavor or aroma. Either way, I personally find the characteristic to be an enhancing bittering and acid mitigating presence in some beers.

I can’t pretend I have a clue in cory’s thought processes or vision. But my gut says he wants to grow the brand. Larger batch’s feels like the their path.

Amazing brewer and recipe constructor, but his best talent may be blending. Bigger batches that don’t miss a beat in quality.

Wow that’s quite a lot, this pretty much means everyone that one sone should score one! That’s exciting. I think the amount and size of the pack will deter a lot of people

min really excited about bbt, but is anyone else excited about the SP versions of bubble wrap? Kinda hoping for that guy to surprise drop soon

Man, beers have dumb names sometimes. Only beer geeks can say and interpret “excited about bubble wrap” with a straight face and it not seem or feel even a little bit odd.

Anyone have an idea of how the BBT proxy works with the different weekends? If you had one ticket and you were proxying for 2 other people and all three of you had different weekends, would it then be OK to pick up all three on any of the weekends?

It seems you should be picking up on your scheduled weekend if you are the proxy.

    3. Pick Ups are Allowed. One person may pick up for a maximum of 5 total people (including themselves). We do ask that you come on the appropriate weekend to spread out the traffic.

They all need to be on the same weekend according to the post. I've told all my buddies if they want me to grab theirs It has to be for the weekend I am there.

LC pick ups can be be picked by the proxies correct weekend for other weekends. But that's only for LC purchases. Not public sale purchases.

Which part of the post says that? Seems that if they are just trying to spread people out, it wouldn't matter if you are proxying for other weekends as long as one of the tickets is for the week you are there.

If you want more clarity/confirmation, you could always email them. They’re very responsive.

Per a comment Rachel made in a FB thread, they will be flexible with people, but hopefully all locals and people within reasonable driving distance will respect the pickup guidelines. My LC pickup slot and my proxy’s is the weekend after I’ll be there. It’s not like they’re gonna say “sorry, come back next weekend” when I'm traveling 500+ miles to visit. They want their customers to be happy, and as long as we treat them with respect and behave ourselves we can continue to have nice things like three BBT weekends instead of only one.
