Missed on the FGz can release, but had a pour of it at Domino Park and it was quite good. Very sweet and almost chewy, however, so I couldn't see myself drinking a whole can of it.

I did pick up a 4-pack of Chubbles and it pours an unappetizing burnt orange color, almost like it's oxidized. Actually looks a bit like a mango smoothie sour I had recently--I guess that's owing to the English malts?

The taste and mouthfeel, thankfully, are great. No oxidation or sticky sweetness like I was expecting. Not an absolute all-star like some of the recent BK/FLX releases (TDH Space Ghost, More lACEd in Space, TDH All Riot Everything, Choppin' Broccoli, among others), but still pleasant and definitely disguises the 11% ABV.

The Banana Deep Orbit variant does a decent impression of BA Bananaversary, a little more sweet and less barrel but its only $18. The 2 year Gravity Gumbo was surprisingly good as well, was not a fan of the fresh version for being to sweet but this one has a ton of barrel (unsurprisingly) that cuts through a lot of the sweetness. Definitely two of the better stouts I've had from OH in a while.

+1 BA Gravity Gumbo, knocked back my bottle this weekend and found it pleasantly full of oak and bourbon notes, helping offset the base beer's sweetness.

Also want to caution that based on two cans consumed, the last batch of Double Mosaic Dream seemed thin, and quickly (after a week I think?) became very melon-forward. I try not to be overly sensitive to batch variations, but this was off enough from my expectations I figure some of y'all playing it safe with a classic might want to know.

+1 on the BA Gravity Gumbo thoughts above. I felt the barrel the cut the sweetness pretty well and it was enjoyable for the taster I got. I got a pour of FGz Sat as well and I agree it was a bit sweet, definitely wouldn't be able to drink a lot of it.

Hop Showers w/ Nelson has been great the last few times.

Going this long without trying cabbage hurts your local cred.

I never really dug broccoli, and always equated them especially after that --broccoli, cabbage, and the other vegetable that I can't remember-- triple release from years ago. I'll take the hit.

    =)

Does anyone know if you are able to pick up other peoples orders at the brewery? I don’t see anything specifically mentioned on the website about proxying.

For the bigger/collab releases they’ve said proxies are welcome, so imagine all good just need order number

Those are fighting words, team DDH Broccoli! Although the pour I had a few weeks ago was not the best.

As long as you have the name on the order it should be fine. In picking up any order I have made since COVID I wasn't ever asked for ID that I can recall. I also picked up stuff a friend ordered as well and it was no issue.

Per Instagram, the Roc Center popup is temporarily closed pending a "Big Announcement." I'd heard rumblings from a friend of mine who worked at Domino Park that they were planning a permanent taproom there, crossing my fingers this is it.
