Give me a bottle of each and you'll be absolved of your sins.

If you're going to drink them, then I think it's fine. If it's for trade or whatever, then yeah, a bit of a d-bag move.

Even if he’s trading it, who cares, as long as he’s not gouging someone because of it’s rarity. If he drinks one and trades one, someone else gets to try it who otherwise wouldn’t be able to.

Anywhere good for breakfast between East Haddam and Salem? That’s the area we will be in when we make our FF visit.

Try 'Two Wrasslin' Cats', 374 Town Street, East Haddam, CT. It's a cool little cafe with character. Then head to the brewery via a quick stop at Devil's Hopyard State Park and check out the the falls.

    Isn’t this a non-sensical statement?

Wasn’t the question whether he should have bought it or let someone else buy it? So, if someone else had bought it, then someone would have gotten to try it that otherwise wouldn’t have gotten a chance to…right?

The other person who could have bought it directly probably had a chance to try it onsite, but the person who got it via trade never had that opportunity. So really, it’s irresponsible to not bring your great grandmother to mule a beer release (as long as you’re trading it).

That certainly wasn't my intention, and I'm sorry if I started something. I just saw the above comment as seemingly silly to suggest that someone who bought it was better, especially if they trade it, because it was implied that anyone else that bought it would have already had it. When that's obviously ignorant, given that people from across the country ordered with the expectation of knowing they could get a proxy.

I myself started visiting this thread because I am super interested in trying some Fox Farm (just their basic stuff, not this special release). Also, I saw your post regarding your story on FF a few pages back, and have it up, saved to read.

The brewery clearly has per person limits and last I checked spouses are people too. I'd consider it more of a d-bag move if the the brewery didn't sell the beer to a spouse.

How is anyone in here going to know what a Washington brewery with no East Coast distro does.

Agreed. It's pretty insulting to assume a spouse is just there so someone can double up on releases. My wife used to HATE it when she'd be in line at a beer release and all the dudes around would assume she was there with someone. No, she actually enjoys drinking beer and goes on her own volition (many times without me). This used to happen all the time when she'd go to TH releases back in the pre-expansion Monson days. She also used to be mansplained every time she'd order a sour beer at a bar. She knew the difference between a kettle sour and a wild ale long before the average bartender. According to my wife, this sort of stuff has gotten much better over time as craft beer became more popular and now appeals to more than just a bunch of neckbeards in sweatpants (her words, not mine!). :stuck_out_tongue:

No idea, but if they do then it's a d-bag move. I remember reading about how some stores years back were doing limits on BCBS and not letting wives/gfs purchase any on the assumption it was for their male partners, so that's what I was thinking of.

My wife would go to Tree House with me during their more limited allocation days, and I actually wouldn't double up on the hoppy beers which only I like. As there are only so many IPAs I can drink fresh. But it actually went the other way, I'd be her mule for the stouts since she loves them and this style tends to be more limited in allocation.

Also I can relate to the mansplaining by servers, she'll be ordering a BA stout and they'll be like 'whoa whoa you know that's strong, right?' It's like no shit, that is the only type of stout she likes lol.

Yes and the same holds for BCBS, she wants to load up on these and needs me for a mule. Sometimes at a store not focusing on craft, you get a clerk who doesn't understand there are 2 of us present and although it is one transaction, we are taking both of our allocations. So in that case we just do our separate transactions and give them a "wouldn't it be easier if we did this all at once?" look.

It is beer. Buy the amount you want and do what you want with it. So much great beer out there.

While they need to revisit Riwaka - Newest batch on Woodline has carbonation in a bright steamroll: not effervescent, but alive enough to defibrillate parameter – stylistically bound to dark roasted grains with a cut sweetness on the digested involvedness: malty elaborations to nutted-oat skin tones, while an oak backdrop implicates the prevailing notations (e.g. crisp cocoa to an old Ecuadoran drip with a smooth ash ambiance that…)

Regardless, hoping Comstock did well on the spontaneous ale program, which seems to be missing from the BA database / no reviews as of yet perhaps -

I think Woodline was my favorite of the beers I picked up around Columbus Day Weekend. I got 2 cans of everything (didn’t realize they had so many options avialable) and Woodline was the standout.
