18 places you need to drink before you die.

Anyone else see this one? Just popped up on my news feed.

I have 8 of 10 crossed off already... anyone else?

Surprised The Brazen Head, Dublin isn't on the list, or The Haunch of Venison, Salisbury.

    8 of 18?
    I’ve got 0. Guess I need a plane ticket.
But then again, who is Glacier Design? And have they ever been to Russian River or Santé Adairius? Probably not.

    A good question.
Since they knew enough to put Anchor on the list, I imagine they've heard of Russian River.

Unfamiliar with Sante Adairius, and as said -- I've been to 8 of 10.

BTW -- draft systems for beer service. Might even have an employee here on BA.

Unfamiliar with Santé? That says a lot about this site tbh. At least 3 of their beers are on the top 250.
So there’s 10 on this list and you’ve been to 8. Awesome! Congrats. :beers:

Well, it seems they sell draft systems. I wonder how many of the 18 they list are their customers?

Not really, just says something about me. Probably wasn't there when I brewery-hopped my way thru California. How long has it been around?
No, 18 on the list -- I still have 10 to go. That said, there are really only a few I'd go out of my way to check out.

And, looking at the sheer number of Cali breweries they've worked with, I'm certain they know who those breweries are, and have likely been there: https://glacier-design.com/featured-projects/

    Gotcha.
Santé has been around since roughly 2012. Somewhat new by us old guy standards.
Their saisons/wilds are only rivaled by HF and Cantillon though in my opinion.

Well, the cool kids around the site tend to call them by their acronym: SARA.

No one yet has mentioned that it's probably not too cool to list ******'s "Eagles Nest" as a place to go drink? Apart from that I'll say that there are a lot of places in Germany, and a lot from Belgium as well, but not too many from other countries. I've been to 4, all in Germany and Austria, but even those I would question. Oktoberfest, yes, but the Viktualienmarkt in München - nein! These guys don't know what they're talking about.

Yeah, that one bugged me. Seems akin to folks taking selfies at Dachau or Auschwitz.

Yeah, I hope they're just pointing to the town of Berchtesgaden -- I didn't really see any spot to have a beer at the top of the Eagle's Nest, but maybe it could be a "spit in the eye" sort of beer.
Have to disagree with you here, Viktualienmarkt has a great Biergarten with Hacker Pschorr on tap. Fun place to sit and have a beer while people watching. But I'd sooner have Fruhstuck at Schneider.

From the linked article: "You can sit where ****** once roamed and drink lager from the world-famous Hofbrauhaus of Munich while perched at picnic tables on the side of a dizzying Alpine mountain precipice. Tasty, intoxicating, historic, scenic and eerie all at once." https://www.kehlsteinhaus.de/english/

...and that says it all, "I'd sooner have Fruhstuck at Schneider". I'll agree. The Viktualienmarkt is nice, but it's not a place I need to drink before I die (although I already have).

Yeah... I read through that (the bucket list paragraph, not your link -- I'm already familiar with the Eagle's Nest) and don't think the author gets the real concept of the evil he's talking about. Not exactly a celebratory tourist destination.

Nah -- that just says I like Schneider better for breakfast. As already mentioned (and you actually agree...) Viktualianmarkt is a great spot to enjoy a beer.
