That's the problem. There are so many outstanding breweries in Oregon, it's extremely difficult to just pick 4 favorites.

I was gonna ask why you were gonna list a bunch of Denver breweries in an Oregon tournament. Then, well, the brain gears finally kicked in.......

I had never heard the term “Central Oregon” until I moved here, but it’s used and abbreviated a lot here. Easy to forget the bubbles you’re in sometimes.

Much like the term "Fourth Corner" up here. Or, Tri-Cities in, well, any of the dozens of Tri-Cities areas of 'Murka!

I thought it was common knowledge. Central Oregon is the are east of the Cascade Passes until you hit the real high desert around about John Day. Then it is Sovereign Citizen Oregon

This would probably be a different list 10 minutes from now, but I'd still stand by it.

I'm going to think about this two ways. First, which 4 breweries make the best offerings in multiple categories?
These 4 have all very good-to-excellent IPAs, lagers, dark beers, and sours:

    Block 15
    Breakside
    Coldfire
    Pfriem

Next 2 on my list of utility players are probably Ft George and Pelican.

    ******

But if I'm stocking out my beer fridge with the "best" in each category...
    Hops: Barley Browns
Lagers: Wayfinder (at least until Chuckanut opens in Portland)
    Dark beers: Ft George
    Saisons/sours: Upright

With either grouping, a beer drinker should be pretty happy!
