Probably low if it’s the same lower bottle count as previous batches

Dang 2 in a row in person :slight_frown:. Is this the end to the epic online releases?? I sure hope it’s a mix of the 2

Don't worry, there will still be online releases. They still need to put together some of those packages to get rid of bottles.

You'd think that creating packages for a BA stout released during Anny week would be the most logical way to do such packages. But, nah. :stuck_out_tongue:

Probably because they didn’t have room for everybody to be holding 6 bottles and paying $15/pour in a building that holds 50 people

In-person saison release at the brewery? What year is it, 2019?

A lot of the people who were there to buy Bubble Wrap were also buying draft pours, onsite bottles, and other to go cans/bottles. The packages are beneficial in that they make people from out of town who might never come to the Cellar/Brewery buy additional bottles beyond just the big stouts.

I think it's obvious that people from all over come for anniversary week. It's not obvious how often some of those that come from BFE drive in otherwise. Some people flew in - they probably only come for Anni week or invitational or zwanze. If those people weren't there, other people would take their place during Anny. So, a massive amount of draft/onsite would still get sold. So, it doesn't make much sense to suggest that because they are spending $ on draft/onsite that you should exclude them from buying packages, when many of them likely participate in those same online purchases and likely don't come in much.

I like how we’ve gone from “it’s not fair LC gets non packaged bottles” to “it’s not fair everybody gets non packaged bottles”

    That's not what I said.

I'm pointing out that if the driving force to do packages is to get people to not just buy the sought after bottle, there's essentially no motivation for SP to have released bubble wrap without doing a package. They could have packaged it, and it still would have sold out. And they would have cleared their shelves.

    Instead, beers like...Langst get packaged?

So you punish the locals and the out of towners who come because maybe the out of towners don't come very often?

How is that different than any other package release?

Why is that a punishment vs. What it is for every other package deal? If it is a punishment for one group or at one time, it's a punishment for all. And if it isn't, then it isn't.

Interested to see if it survives until Saturday. I may have to reconsider the bag I was going to Uber to SP with and bring my duffel.

Side Project has stated that the original intent of the packages was to move inventory that would normally have been sold as extra to go bottles during big releases or as draft anytime. Now that the Cellar and Brewery are open, the motivation to do onsite packages for big onsite releases is reduced. The people who are actually showing up are the reason why that motivation is reduced. This isn't rocket surgery.

Also, the number of people who will never make it SP but try to buy big releases online is much higher than the actual number of people who come from long distance for the Cellar Anniversary or some other event.

M.J.K. pours continue today at the Cellar.

How long does M.J.K. typically last? I know it's pretty difficult to say. I'd be surprised if it lasted until Saturday, but curious if anyone knows otherwise.

Woof. They typically just open up one bottle?

Genuinely curious. Never been around for any of the ultra rare stuff.

They most likely allocated a set number of bottles out of their inventory for pours. But once those are gone, they aren’t pulling out anymore, even though they have them.

I’d imagine not. Likely allotted bottles per day. Nor have I. I was just breaking balls. Sorry. Hope it sticks around for when you get there.

One man's opinion, but I get the sense it will be around during the entire BBT pickup period. There was so much during the reopening and the way they are doing pours by the oz. makes me think it can last for out of towners to get to try it once. That would be a great surprise for those flying in to pickup packages. Again, just an opinion and I could be totally wrong.

No problem at all. I know I've been throwing around a lot of questions lately. I think my impatience and eagerness are starting to show.

Thanks for all the information, all!
