God bless Notch and the like.

When I first got into craft and I dove in head first. Tracked down too beers on Beeradvocate which at the time were beers like Stone RIS, Victory Storm King, Bigfoot…

I’d buy a sixer, drink most of it then switch to something lighter. I was also in my early 20s.

Unfortunately our ability to process alcohol has not increased like the average ABV has in craft over the years…

I found it difficult to find Bigfoot in CT myself. I wonder what's going on, it used to be everywhere!

If it was called Hazy Little Bigfoot it would be everywhere.

But in the early 80s (so, pre-legal abv listing on the US labels), most sources (M. Jackson, Schartz Services, several state regulators) put Budweiser at 4.7-4.8% abv.

Coors' own marketing material listed their flagship "Premium" (usually now referred to as "Banquet") at 3.6% ABW (~4.61 ABV) in the late 70s and 3.7% ABW (~4.688 ABV) in the early 80s.

In that era, based on numerous sources, every well-known US brewers' flagship AAL was under 4% ABW (at the time the most common method of measuring alcohol content of beer in the US) or under ~5% ABV. At least 20 states still had laws that defined beer as under 4% ABW or 3.2% ABW.

Bigfoot is released in January, so, while those are from "this year", that wasn't what the OP was asking about.

Which Total Wine? I'd drink some 2021 to hold me over until 2022 hits the streets.

Still haven't seen Celebration. Weird it's like SN stopped selling beer in SEPA and it goes to Delaware.

Well, yeah - they're following their market since it seems like that's where all you guys go to buy your beer, much to the chagrin of PA tax collectors and PA retail distributors but it likely it makes ExxonMobil happy.

Ooo, next year is the 40th...wonder what they'll do.

Well even though Sierra Nevada hoppy beers hold up well, if there was ever one you could sit on, it's this one.

Please don't take that statement literally.

Well, what I’m hoping they do is continue to brew and distribute it. :grimacing:
