Bell's Brewery (2021)

Stopped into the Cafe for lunch on my trip home, they had plenty of BBA Expo left (still 1 case limit). Also had a pour on draft. IMO, it’s one of the best vintages fresh in recent history. Not hot at all out of the gate, and tons of smooth, roasty, chocolate goodness. For $26 a four pack, it’s a ridiculously good value for such a world class beer. Wish I hadn’t already spent so much this stout season so I could have taken advantage of the full case limit (I only walked away with a disappointing 3 packs).

 

You're fellow FIBs will hang you for such things lest you give up all 3 of your packs.

A few 4-packs left on the shelf at Binny's Bolingbrook, too. That was about 5:30 or so.

 

Great batch of BA expo and very easy to obtain. Love to see it

 

Finishing my first bottle of BA Expedition this year, and can’t tell if I like it more or less than past vintages. This is my 3rd vintage, I think, that I have enjoyed.

I keep going back and forth on whether I like it as much/more or less. I feel like I remember enjoying past vintages more, but this has a bit more of warming/burn, like a spirit, which I am enjoying right now.

Either way, enjoying. I was pretty surprised when I stopped at a store on a trip to see if they had any, knowing they got it in a week or more, asking about it, and then telling me they thought so, it just had not made it out to the floor yet. They had to open the case for me. I guess we really are the top tier beer nerds using beer finders and such.

 

In ohio?

 

Indiana. I travel for work. Just worked out Thad I had to take a trip at the same time. Originally I wanted to try to plan a trip, but then work got crazy, and unexpectedly I had to take a trip. I didn’t expect anything to be left after the drop occurred 7-9 days before I left. (Yea, I monitored it pretty closely.)

 

Binny's Bolingbrook put out another case+ of BA Expo if anyone is still looking.

 

BA Expo has been all over Milwaukee this week. Could've bought a case if I wanted to. Funny how hard it is to resist the urge to buy more when I keep seeing it in stores.

 

Good problem to have. We haven’t received any in Ohio, even though we share a state border. Hope they didn’t forget us… Or the state messed up the UPC again.

 

It’s been scarce in MI, but I also could have bought a case at one place (I bought three 4 packs), and another place had one bottle limit with the bottles behind the counter.

 

In the past it's always been a behind the counter/strict limit thing here too. I've seen 4 packs and singles all out on shelves in 3 places where I've seen it. I bought 2 four packs and was happy with that until I saw it in another place for cheaper and was like "...(sigh), okay fine..." and bought a third. So far I've managed to get every relase that's been bottled so I'm eager to see how 2021 stacks up. Pretty sure it won't suck...

 

It is not supposed to come to Ohio, according to the information they released about distro.

 

Finally got around to my first BA Expo 21.

20>17>18>21>16

Lots more umami this year, less bourbon but still a strong drying barrel oak to counter the base richness. 2021 is still a 5 capper. As far as I'm concerned nothing touches this beer.
