Whoa, I do not know what to say about this one! I can say that this is VERY challenging to my palate even, and I am trying to dissect the flavors and put them together!

I can already say, that I do not believe anyone would like this one... In a way this reminds me of sherry and a little bit of Baladin Xyuayu. Maybe, just maybe, I can connect that to a BCBS in a way.

This is barleywine aged in French oak barrels for nine months that previously had Italian wines.

    No carbonation is present.

Thanks for the info it was helpful. Really like tasting different beers like this because most styles are more european but when I taste this beer I think Mediterranean. Really a nice breath a fresh air. While I cant say the taste blew my mind I dont think it was supposed to because its just a solid beer light but complex. I feel others who prefer belgians and strong Ipa's might not this beer a fair shake because its not overwhelmingly rich in body characteristics or richness

I'm getting a little tired, I need some coffee with beer mixed in:

Not as good as the Cascade or the Simcoe, but still worthwhile to be able to taste the subtle differences between the varietals. Love the coloring of the Mt Hood at the very least.

Oh I agree with you in that many who like the IPA's and Belgians will not be impressed with this. But approaching this style, and what the Italians do, is by knowing what their goals are, and how their palates are. This Italian craft is meant to be drank with fine food, and the many flavors are foreign but if you can approach that way, you may discover something you may like!

I am going to also try the two other versions from Birra Del Borgo, and Baladin. I think these will be a little more in depth as one will be wood ages, and the other in terracotta!

Hiya buddies! Drinking Item Nine from Brash. Pretty boozy concoction (its American IPA slash wheat beer clocking in at 9%) but very enjoyable.

So - should my next beer be a pie beer or should it be a bourbon barrel brown?

Been on a Trappist kick lately. Tonight, I'm starting with Westmalle Dubbel. Just picked up some Westmalle chalices for a friend and it inspired me...
