What’s the point of posting this? Are you suggesting I should (a) not post my opinion of the beer, or (b) not post that I don’t understand some people’s reviews of it?

Literally every brewery related thread on BA has these same posts for a huge number of beers. The point of BA isn’t just to say, “Beer X is getting released,” it’s to discuss and interact.

What’s the point of shitting on my post?

Don't you dare say anything remotely less than glowing praise for SP wares lest you drop the bottled currency @gibgink is trafficking in.

I'm going to go with (c) that you answered your own quandary earlier in the damn sentence.

I guess it goes back to the adage, "opinions are like assholes...everyone has one."

And sure, as @Sabtos said, I might be fanboying out right now, but post shitting? No, just failing to point something out is all.

I wonder how Sakura compares to Montmorency. I'm a sucker for vanilla, but that beer was a rare SP miss for me.

For those who have had both. How does Anabasis compare to MJK?

Anabasis is more about the dark fruit and brown sugar, MJK more about the barrel.

MJK is also a true English Barleywine whereas Anabasis has some strong American Barleywine characteristics. In particular, Anabasis is hopped much heavier.

i’ll add that Anabasis drinks like a BA BW (or BA stout even) and MJK drinks closer to a port wine. i’m sure that’s due to the ABV and the fact it’s bottled still.

Pretty sure Bubble Wrap was $50 a bottle when it was released onsite so I'm assuming it will be the same online.

I think everyone wishes that was the case, but it appears to be a package.

Kinda hoping for another four bottle pack. If they drop a Saison du Fermier or Oude Fermier in there, I'm 100% sold.

I haven't kept close enough tabs on SP to know what they have in the works though, and maybe Oude Fermier is too big an ask.

Still plenty of SP beers I haven't tried, or would like to keep around, so there's a good chance the package works for me regardless. Assuming I can click fast enough.

Since lots of people should be visiting this page today, I'm hoping to get some good feedback on this question.

Can anyone help me better understand how the following beers are different?
    • Raspe
    • Raspberry BdP
    • FdF
This naturally extends to any set of similarly fruited SP beers. I understand (believe) that the base is different in all of them. From a more practical standpoint, can anyone who has tried them all tell me how they actually differ?

Raspe’s base beer would be their foeder blonde (same base as Fuzzy, La Fosse, makes its way into Merci a lot)

Raspberry BdP uses Biere du Pays as the base beer (so foeder-aged farmhouse table beer)

FdF is SdF base, so chardonnay barrel fermented and aged and then aged in french oak wine barrels with raspberries i believe

this doesn’t even get into the different amount of fruit that goes into them. i know for sure Raspberry BdP gets a lighter addition of fruit since it is a lower abv (“smaller”) beer.

    I appreciate your feedback.

This may come off rude, but that's not the intent. Basically, I haven't had the opportunity to try a lot of SP beers, and when I gift my sister beer, she also hasn't had that opportunity. But the natural question arises: How are these 3 raspberry beers different?

I guess what I was going for was something more like, "Raspe is bassically a jammy beer with very little sour/tart. Most people will like it" vs. "FdF is a sour bomb, not very jammy by comparison, and may not be appreciated if you don't like sours. Will eat away your stomache!" vs. "BdP is very approachable, but more sour than BdP. Somewhere between Raspe and FdF in terms of approachability."
