What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3335

The missus went to bed early so I'm having a quiet birthday beer or two. Starting our with some Alchemist who just dropped some cans in Pittsburgh last week! Focal Banger canned on 11/30.

Despite the fact that I'm currently "celebrating" alone, don't feel too bad for me - we have a trip planned for the weekend so I'll be doing plenty of festive activities in a few days

 

Killer stouts and sours from them for sure, the are a little inconsistent with NEDIPAs. I trust they will get that dialed in also. Thanks for giving me your thoughts, I have purchased 3 four packs so I am smitten. Cheers brother.

Really like this! A local(ish) brewery makes a version that is similar, but they use raspberries instead of cherries. Soooo good. I'm going to attempt a black forest type cake using some of this in the batter soon. Cheers!

 

Nostra might be a new favorite NY style pizza place/restaurant. 8 minutes driving. At first glance I thought the toppings were lacking but you get a taste in every bite with the full fold up experience. I just got a 16" pie. Buffalo Chicken Bacon Ranch. Lit. I could live off pizza. 1 meal a day ftw.


@hoptheology gifted this can when we went to the brewery. Flying Machine Pretty Ugly. This was outstanding stuff! Opaquely hazy, lasting fluffy head retention and lacing. Aromas and flavors of big orange juice, red grapefruit, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, peach, pear, red apple, grape, mango, melon, guava, red berries, citrus peel/zest, wood, peppercorn, pine, biscuit dough, light toast, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-medium pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation and body; with a great creamy/silky oat feel with a good amount of sticky resins/rinds on the finishing. No hop astringency after the finish with lingering resin dryness. Minimal warming 8.1% or lingering hop burn after the finish. Cryo pop and Enigma hops. All around very juicy with a nice level of dankness; and the hop character is unique enough without being weird. Spot on NEDIPA. Would buy more of their NEIPA again soon. 4.26

2021 Costco Beer Advent....December 7th offering.....

 

Thanks to all for the birthday wishes. One more and then bedtime. Guinness Chocolate Mint Stout. First time I've had anything from the Baltimore brewery.

Tons of peppermint/sweet mint in the nose. Feels a little thin for an impy stout, but the flavor is nice. Just a hint of barrel but it becomes a little more prevalent as it warms. I'm a sucker for mint additions to stout/porter. Very enjoyable - based on this one I wish I would have grabbed some of the Gingerbread version when it came out. Cheers!

 

That beer and cake sound great, what is the beer?

 

First time having a Parish Dr Juice Northeast IPA. Super delicious with lots of tropical fruit, but nowhere near their Ghost In The Machine. They had some more of that at ABC, but it was nearly 4 months old.
