Bottled 7 July ‘21. Poured at 56°. Great bourbon nose/taste. Chocolate, vanilla and oak. Simply wonderful…better than the ‘19 I drank a couple of days ago. Delicious!

This was when Stowe Ladies' Hat Night descended upon the French restaurant where I worked from '97 - '07. At least 6 of them were coworkers and the rest were long time customers. There's maybe three I don't recognize. The one on the right near the bottom will be 75 next week so this must have been at least 20 years ago.

We stopped by recently, and the whole area is beautiful, to me at least. The brewery is quite nice, and while I could see some people thinking the drive up there boring, it was far from that to me. Then again, I was vacationing, so in a good mood

You seem at least somewhat nearer, so maybe you'll think differently. I hope not should you venture up. There's a few other breweries worth checking out around there, of course

Randomly, I ran across The Pretenders when revisiting the Jimi Hendrix cover album Stone Free just tonight.


So the GF and I did our "How many songs do you know?"

I guessed 5-6, she 3. She recognized six, I eight nine, of what we filtered through on Spotify.

We were sharing a Hardywood Bourbon Barrel GBS (@jonphisher), but after I fixed myself an Old Fashioned that I am sipping now. Cheers!

 

I’m looking forward to my hardywoods @cjgiant if I happen to see the regular bourbon GBS I’ll grab one too.

Back from a day at Epcot and I am cracking this for the first time. It wasn’t rated spectacularly, but I think it was better than the ratings indicate. There’s a bit of coffee in it.
