Good day BAs! Off to another chilly start - yesterday's dusting of snow has mostly sublimed. today's New Breakfast Beer is another from @Roy_Hobbs anf NBS BIF #14:

This was one I misplaced when shifting brews in my reefers so I didn't drink it as fresh as I should have - it's nearly three months old which doesn't help the Amarillo or Citra hops. However, the Simcoe hops did just fine.
Rating 3.36, rDev -14.1%. Thanks Ross - mea culpa!

Good morning BAs! A cold 28° here in The Fan…the cats have been fed and petted, the kitchen cleaned…warming up with a special beer - Avery Brewing’s “The Beast” Grand Cru Oak Aged Ale (Release July 2016 Batch No. 14):

Poured at 51°. I drank a bottle in 2019 and in 2020 and loved the oak/aging…At roughly 5 1/2 years this beer is fantastic! Oak, honey, caramel, dusty dry dates & figs; no maple can I find; more honey as beer warms; sweet Belgian candy/sugar finish. And did I mention (16.8%)? Heat in the mouth. Reminds me of how DFH 120 ages…a sipper for sure.

Cheers y’all and have a great day!

Good day all, just got back from my doctor for Jab and booster #3. Feeling good 20 minutes later still and hoping not too many bad side effects will occur.

French Lager and a new one at that. Considering that I just got jabbed I will only have one.

    Cheers!

Morning, BAs! We've got some beautiful snow still on the ground from last night, and that's certainly got me in a Winter mood.

    Stone 25 Triple IPA.

@Snowcrash000 I did find this in a local supermarket. I must add that this is a rather huge supermarket located in the so called Mall of the Netherlands. The beer shelves are somewhat like a bottleshop. Friendly prices too. However I end up with a higher bill for the beer compared to groceries when I go there.

    Cheers all!

I'm starting off the day with a pint of Captain Lawrence Snyder Bier, a pretzel marzen. It's good, but nothing fancy. Caramel and dough (like a pretzel, duh) malts. I rated it 3.87, just a tick below its average of 3.96.

In my glass now is Le Cochon Noir from Sterling Pig Brewery, a near enough local out of Media, PA. It's a schwarzbier that is advertised as having chocolate and light coffee notes. Well, the coffee is dominant and the chocolate is very light. Not that there's anything wrong with that. A solid beer from a good brewery. I rated it 3.81, which can't be compared to anything b/c I'm the only review.

Hunter - Sounds like you are having a great visit. I hope you are able to enjoy at least one CheeseSTEAK sandwich before leaving the City of Brotherly Love.

Pulled an oldie, and turned out to be a goodie, from the cellar, an eight year old Flanders Oud Bruin.

Full review in the Cellar Review Thread. Bottom line, this held up very well, so glad I popped this open today after some trepidation eight years may have hurt this. It did not.

These two tunes also held up well from 1975.
