I hope sap season doesn't end without an appearance of Sssappp!!

Five mentions being the beer they brewed for the 4th anniversary party, which was KJJJ. I'll need to skim through my posts here to see if I'm forgetting anything I gushed over, but I grabbed it (Five) the first time it was released and I think it was my favorite IPA of the year. I think I preferred it to any KJJJ I've had, which includes that anniversary party release.

Treat yourself to Very Sappy and get a pour of stick season. Sidenote I also tried blend 2 yesterday and was underwhelmed by the lack of barrel presence when it notes threads of 22 month aged stout.

Wish I could. One of BAs most esteemed Northeast posters is being kind enough to pick up for me.

What I always find amazing is how many people are positive that they remember exactly what a beer tasted like X years ago and are equally certain it was better (or worse) then. I could never be this sure about it.

Oh, and the 11/16 Juli-ish is tasting amazing complete right now especially for a 5.2% beer!

Their barrel aged stouts are well below the standard for how long they're aged and what barrels they use. The barleywines however, are exceptional

That's exactly what I'm suggesting. Maybe they had some old cans in back. Maybe they found a bunch of old labels. Maybe they're still working their way through a massive can order. Maybe they placed an order with an old can art revision by accident. Maybe the can printing company used an old revision by accident. Anybody in manufacturing knows this can be a problem. There a bunch of reasons why a can could say "Made in Monson". This was a particularly hot topic back when Charlton first opened because TH was working through all their old stock and people desperately wanted the beer to be brewed in Monson.

Occam's Razor says all their beer is made in Charlton. They built that facility for a reason. Why would they waste time and money brewing up a ton of small batches on inferior equipment and truck it across the state? Especially something mundane like Alter Ego? Why would you assume there even still is production brewing equipment at Monson? Do you think they placed a special order for "Made in Monson" cans just so they could brew it in Monson? Sounds expensive and pointless.

"Made in _____" has always been a huge red herring for Tree House and you'll drive yourself crazy trying to speculate where a particular batch was brewed.

I'm seeing a real estate transaction from Faith United Church to a Tree House C LLC for 52 Sumner Ave in Springfield.

Definitely a fair point and something I railed about for a while.

The thing to me is the yeast. Every hoppy beer had that fruit stripe bubblegum flavor back in Monson. There may have been the occasional exception but it was always there. It's an unmistakable flavor.

So when I get it in Very Sappy, but not in Julius, I recognize there's definitely something different.

And don't get me started on Double Shot.

But I mostly agree. I see it all the time with big stout releases (BCBS being the biggest one).

I couldn't agree with this more as Super Sap is ridiculous. While Very Sappy is good, it's sweeter than I'd like. I'm definitely going back for more SS tomorrow. Damn!

What names did they use to purchase the other properties? These guys look like property managers, apartments? However the vibes would be godly at this location.

I can hear the masses now, “NOt aS gOOd as tHe VaTiCan!!”
They gonna release different colors of smoke every time they announce a new can? Purple smoke for Haze variants, Orange for Julius, etc?
BTW, these guys are absolute savages with their selection. Savages. They just keep adding stuff. It’s bananas.

do they intentionally pick places with horrible traffic/parking? That intersection gets pretty backed up, it is nicely right off 91 (though so is Deerfield). Its not a place that Tree House clientele would live within walking distance either. And its a COMPLETE shit-storm in the winter evenings with Bright Nights... I guess it could fill the void left by the Friendly's that closed across the street?

Better question is, why in the hell are they closing Friendly’s everywhere?? They’re closing them around me too here in NY. Sucks.

Nostalgia aside, what exactly is Friendly’s bringing to the table in the current market?
