Visiting Brazil later this year. Staying in Santos, along the coast. Any recommendations for local beers to try?
Hi, not sure if you have been already. I was in Rio in mid 2016 and there are a wealth of local beers. A few of the many I tried - Petra Premium, dark but not as heavy as a stout, Bohemia lager, Brahma Extra, very nice lager, Cerpa Export, another fine lager, Eisenbahn Pilsen, Baden Baden Red Ale, Isenbeck. There is a historical influence on south American brewing by German brewers, as you will note in some of the names. Also, there are the usual Heineken, Stella Artois, Estrella, etc. that you will find. Happy drinking!
