Hey hey hey… hoppy Sunday all!

Thanks @SawDog505 for opening this thread, yesterday after sipping on Westmalle we went to some small Xmas Market then stayed over there for dinner. Top tier burger, some wine as very few beer options and great fries to pair it.

It’s about fair that today I have decided to have a couple of brews and stay home.

    Drinking a French Christmas beer.

    Cheers…

Good day BAS! And thanks @SawDog505 for kicking off today's thread! Starting today a bit milder than yesterday:

Seems kinda weak in the aroma and flavor departments, but then I usually drink PseudoSue as my pale Ale of choice, or Sierra Nevada if PS isn't available. Rating 3.28, rDev -8.1%

    IMHO, a better version

Good morning BAs! I’m still holed up in my hotel room, drinking Hardywood’s “Bourbon Barrel GBS” that I picked up in Richmond yesterday:

Bottled 10/15/21. Poured at 56°. Tan, somewhat fizzy mixed bubbles; some cap retention; solid ring; soapy lace, especially with agitation; thin legs. Honey and bourbon nose; ginger and molasses as it warms. Taste is honey, ginger, brown sugar sweetness; bourbon, cinnamon; chocolate as it warms up; molasses in the middle; honey, ginger, and bourbon on the backend. Medium body; a little warmth from 11.5% abv; light carbonation; dry barrel finish. Overall I like as much as the base GBS which I had on tap a few days ago; the bourbon flavor replaces the chocolate I tasted and n the base; it’s thin for abv; the honey and ginger dominate the linger; an excellent Christmas imperial stout with layers of “holiday” flavors.

    4.5 | 4.5 | 4.5 | 4.0 | 4.5
    Score: 4.45 rDev +1.8%
Slightly lower than my 2019 review.

Cheers from Lewisburg, WV and have a great day y’all!

Happy Sunday Advocates! Thanks @SawDog505 for unfolding todays thread. This morning calls for a scrappy breakfast of Vienna bread, pork sausages, pepper jack cheese and Leinenkugel's Toasted Bock. It is yummy! Imagine a slightly thinner Hofbrau Dunkel. That's pretty much it and it's very clean. I'll eventually post it in New Beer Wknd as well but I'll need another just to be sure :sunglasses: Also time now to cruise around thru my record collection and I've chosen Leonard James Boppin' and a Strollin'. Recognize any names on the back cover? If not, Malcolm R. is who we know today as DR. John. This is the 1st record he ever played on. Cool! This stereo LP was a good find. It's campy but fun. Cheers folks! Great to be here with you!

French stout made with cocoa, and orange zest. This is not bad, for once a French stout that isn’t “flat”, off those I tried anyway but still lacking some thickness. Nice attempt and the ingredients still work well together. Santé!

A fridge straggler where the kid should probably look older on the label. Still a wonderful beer!
