    Good morning and good afternoon Advocates! I'm beginning today with a beautiful Hofbrau Dunkel as I have to begin clearing snow from the roof of my house. Heavy melting for the next 3 days plus rain is forecasted on Wed. I have two 18 ft snow rakes so I have no excuse not to do it. Cheers! Keep on smiling!

    Good morning BAS! Thanks, @LesDewitt4beer , for starting today's thread. And WTFs a snow rake? Never saw or heard of this before but it sounds like something we could use occasionally here on the tundra of NW PA.

    Today's New Breakfast Beer is from @Ozzylizard and a fairly recent trip to Hoppin' Frog in Akron:

    A malt liquor, huh? Head and shoulders above the malts I drank many years ago (Colt 45, Mustang). Just shows what can be done with this style in the hands of a brewer that puts quality ahead of quantity - Rating 3.95, rDev -0.3%.

    Thanks brother! Good morning. Once I get the gear outa the garage and get 'er going I'll pop another brew and load some pix of the roof rakes. One is a push the other is a puller (more labor intensive). Cheers!

    Good morning BAs!, and thanks to @LesDewitt4beer for starting this morning’s fire. Some coffee this cold (28°) sunny morning - KBS:

    Bottled 10/14/21. Poured at 51°. My WV house is old, big and drafty, and my brother sets the thermostat at 65°. I will need a day to acclimate…thank goodness I brought lots of beer!

    I have an IP trade with an old Florida pal at the city’s only brewpub set up for lunch today…I’ll take my kid brother as his restaurant work days are still cut back to 3 per week (he’s lucky to still have a job)…

    I would take its classification on BA with a grain of salt if you are applying it to brewer intention. I doubt they were trying to emulate an American malt liquor like the ones you referred to (and didn't brew a beer in that style), but were instead aiming for the strongest lager they could brew (which is "quantity" in a different sense). :slight_smile:

    Canned 11/3/21. Poured at 56°. A whiff of cocoa. Very light chocolate and roast malt. Ok. Cheers gang!

    Not knowing the grain bill for this beer but based on it's ABV, European strong lager might be closer to an appropriate BA classification for the beer.

    Problem areas of roof done! Beer:30 and now gonna make a nice little fire in the cauldron. Leinie Toasted Bock will be awesome to get 'er goin'. Here's the roof rakes @Ozzylizard wanted to see. Didn't have to use the older puller. The blue Avalanche is the balls. Start from the leading edge and push. The snow slides down the plastic. I then get up there and push down what the rake won't reach. Cheers Advocates!! Fire pix next!

    Got a wee fire goin' now. Nice to be outdoors not freezing my bike rack off. About 35F or so...Some oak, box elder and cherry makes a nice lil' mix as do Heine, Leinie and Jubelale in Ye Oulde funky lidded stein.
