When I see people mention MoaS (or several others) that I haven’t seen on Tavour, it makes me wonder… How do they decide what shows up, and for who? Are all the users tiered somehow based on spending, or is there some pure randomness as well? Is the only difference in the stuff that show up as “Secret Stash”, or are all the listings potentially variable?

Or are we all just in the dark?

I haven't spent much on Tavour, but after I grabbed some higher end stuff, it started showing more higher end stuff. I'm sure it's an algorithm geared towards selling more of what you may buy. I haven't seen many sours as of late, and most of feed is dark beers as of right now.

I did this. Was building up a box of stouts, so no need to rush and fill it up. I had it open for several months. Over the course of me filling up the crate, I lost 8 beers. One bundle of 5 beers, one bundle of 3 beers. They said it was all breakage. To be fair, all 8 were bottles not cans. But still - 8 beers?!

I told them to still send me whatever beers in the bundle were unbroken. Tavour said they all broke. So, either they're selling more than they've actually got or are just horrible about handling beers. Neither is really acceptable.

Clearly what broke was the implied contract that you assumed kept your beers securely attached to your crate. When that gave way, all 8 beers were immediately lost to the irresistible pull of a separate crate needing to be fulfilled immediately. A horrible accident, to be sure.

I complained on the prior page of this thread about the exact same issue. Now I have a huge crate thanks to purchases just last week and would love to have it shipped ASAP, but am out of town over holidays so have to cross my fingers and hope I don't get any emails notifying me my bottles were broken, before they ship at the end of December.

Every time they chalk it up to breakage, I just picture a warehouse with some idiot on a forklift careening recklessly through aisles of stacked beer cases.

I guess I've been fortunate that this has only happened to me once so far, and I've left several crates open for 2+ months.

The email I received also stated, "This inventory issue was likely due to a breakage in our facility, which we are always trying to minimize. We actually do not pack your crate until the time of shipping which is why if we happen to have damaged a beer prior to packing we would have none left to put in your crate."

Since it says "likely due to breakage" it sounds like they just send a generic e-mail regardless, so even in the "unlikely" event that this issue was not caused by breakage, I imagine you would still get this e-mail.

It does seem like an awful lot of damage to bottles hearing that some have it occur regularly, so if true they should likely think through better methods of storage, hiring more competent employees, or both.

I feel like somebody should post the meme of Michael Scott driving a forklift in the warehouse and Photoshop Tavour over Dunder-Mifflin. Personally, I’m too lazy and not talented enough.

If we’re being honest, they don’t exactly pack their boxes well. So imagine what tomfoolery they do in the warehouse!

Got my first order in over a year and everything was perfect. Super fast shipping and nicely packed.

I find it funny that their whole premise is you buy it we set it aside for you. After you purchase a beer is says we are packing it in your crate (or it did 1.5 yrs ago when they shipped to my area), but they don’t actually pack it.

also of the 12 or so boxes I got from tavour only one had breakage but they were able to replace that and none had missing beers.

Or perhaps by 'break' they mean that someone in the 'break'room got thirsty at lunch.

It seems to be region based.

There was, at one point, reports of the next market over getting bottles if they didn't sell out in the first. Usually see the same bottles posted to other users in my area, which differ from the region of users in this thread.

I have yet to see MoaS. And I hope I do see it. It's one of my favorite beers.

Haven't seen it either. Love MoaS & both hope/doesn't hope it shows up as I won't be able to resist & I have enough bloody beer.

I believe I've had about ten crates over the years & never lost a single bottle to breakage or anything else (knocks on wood). I attribute it to good clean living. Hope everything works out for you brother!

Understand. I haven't ordered thru Tavour since start of 2020. And now I'm amassing quite a box of barleywines. MoaS would be a great addition, and make for one helluva tasting.

Definitely have plenty of beer though. Ha.

Barleywines are my main Tavour objective but there haven't been that many around for me of late. Out of curiosity, would you mind sharing what you have seen?

I guess the only barleywine in my box right now is Santa's Brass from Drake's Brewing Company. The other two are BA stouts.

I'm on a work trip, and have a few barleywines in my hotel room now, so I think I was lumping those all together.

Darn, but also fine by me. My first experience with that beer is one of my best beer experiences. As much as I want another MoaS, it's also tempting to "save" that memory as a one and done.

But if it shows up in my feed, I'm buying it.
