Unsurprisingly, Chris in CO capitalizing on Bierstadt: conceivably a solid team

Not a bad substitute for the Germany trip that was planned.

What’s the process like to stop in and grab crowlers Friday afternoon in Brighton? Is it cumbersome? Never seen one filled in person but it feels like it might be. Wanted grab 5-6 for a special occasion this weekend.

I think you'll be okay on a Friday afternoon. @MattOC might have more insight on earlier on a Friday, but I think it's usually not too crowded and the bartenders aren't being overrun.

It’s been dead the last two Fridays up until about 4, when I’ve left, but even then it was just a bit more people trickling in as opposed to being busy. Depending on your timing of afternoon, you should have no issue being in and out in less than 10 minutes or so if it’s just to grab crowlers.

Oh yeah that’s perfect then. I can get there really anytime since I work from home on Fridays & live close by. Likely show up 1-2pm

    thanks!

The crowlers do take some time, so order a beer while you’re there. Especially if you’re getting 5-6 as that will probably take 10 minutes.

I popped in to get a single crowler last week and that was just enough time to get a big sample pour of the sticke alt, while my girlfriend waited in the car. If it was 5 of them, I would have had a full pour for sure. Crowlers take way more time than you think, so don't be the guy that orders a bunch when the place is packed.

    THIS!!
As a beertender, there is no worse feeling (especially when I’m tending bar alone) than having a mostly full tasting room and someone wants a case or 4 or 5 4-packs, especially if they’re not staying. You have to basically ignore the entire place to properly make these cans. And, I especially love it when they don’t sit down, don’t order a beer and just stand there and watch me while I have 4 or 5 patrons waiting for flights or 12oz pours. I like to think I’m good at multi-tasking, but when I’m purging cans, I like to pour and seal them ASAP.

I’m sure Notch is a little different with the amount of bartenders though and the attention they CAN give to spinning crowlers.

If @Jcorn goes early on a Friday like he said, it'll be more than fine.

When I was there on a Friday around 12:30 two weeks ago, it was literally me and @MattOC in the brewery drinking.

You there this Friday? I’m on break for a week or so starting at 4pm tomorrow. Friday beers will likely happen.

Nah I wish though! I have Friday off but I’ll be on the Northshore for Christmas stuff.

Odds are we’ll have beers soon enough given the frequency we both go to Notch.

I'm looking at the Notch subscriptions as a gift idea. I see that you get 12 beers each month for $50. Meanwhile, outside the subscriptions, Notch four packs cost $13, and they charge $15 to ship 3 four packs ($54 total to get 12 beers shipped). So the only benefit to subscribing is saving $4 each month on shipping, which doesn't seem like nearly enough to justify not being able to choose which beers you get.

Am I missing something? I've seen people post in this thread about the subscriptions before, so I'm thinking there must be something else that makes this a good deal.

Many of the beers included are brewery only and not distributed. So, the shipping replaces the cost of driving to the brewery.
