Good day BAs! Off to another potentially sunny day, despite what the weather-guessers say. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

An excellent barleywine from @Roy_Hobbs! Thanks Ross, this is an excellent sipper I've been waiting for the weekend to crack - rating 4.4, rDev +0.7%.

    What he said.

Two Hearted and most anything I tried from Bells wowed me.

I have had plenty of worthy American IPA until I tried it.

Just like I found SNPA outstanding (and still do) until I tried Zombie Dust.

    Cheers!

Good morning BAs!, and thanks to @Ozzylizard for turning today’s key…a winter warmer and part of my recent IP trade with my buddy from Ohio - Great Lakes’ “Christmas Ale”:

Best by date of 2/15/22. Poured at 57°. One finger of off-white foam sits atop amber ale with excellent clarity; very good cap retention; solid ring; sudsy lace. Nose is sweet malt, honey and ginger. Ginger, honey, cinnamon and caramel malt. Some sweetness; no bitterness, just holiday spices. Medium body, moderate minus carbonation; no warmth from 7.5% abv; grainy dusty tongue coating. Overall, I like better than in years past; not overly spiced, the ginger is mild as is the cinnamon; a melange of holiday spices, yet still approachable.

Up considerably from my 2.85 score in 2015…maybe I appreciate the style/spices better now?

Gloomy drizzly day here in the Kanawha Valley. This afternoon I’ll go to Huntington to visit with 2 of my other younger siblings. Cheers y’all and have a far out Friday!

Morning, BAs! We are feeling much better; now if only we could stop coughing. Still, I think any improvement is worth celebrating with a beer, don't you?

Good day everyone! Thanks @Ozzylizard for opening up todays thread. I awoke about 5 hrs ago mid-dream that I had parachute landed into some farm fields in Mexico with my dad and some friends. We climbed treeless mountains until we got to a small village that had a large vanilla factory. Then we (like a dozen people) along with locals all got stoned. Mota. Only natural to now have Stone Xocoveza Tres Leches Imperial Stout. A dream come true. Absolutely DYNAMITE!!
    Cheers Advocates! Keep on smiling!

    Happy Friday BA's,

This my lunch beer today. Ayinger Hefeweizen. Yeasty and amazingly light. Produces a beautiful white frothy head that lingers forever. The Kroger grocery store up the street from me keeps these and a few Ayinger beers in stock. The Kroger! Lucky me!

Good Friday BA's. Since Equilibrium local prices dropped from $28.99 to $21.99 I decided to give it another try. This MC2 is tasting great, and lunch prep is underway.

Another beer I haven’t visited in awhile, but thanks to today’s tasting I’m reacquainting myself - Dirty Bastard:

Bottled 11/23/21. Poured at 57°. Deep amber/ruby brown body with excellent clarity; three fingers of khaki mixed bubbles foam; looong cap retention; heavy minus lacing and heavy ring; medium legs on swirl. Caramel malt and floral hops nose; light smokiness as beer warms. Bitter hops on entry, with caramel sweetness right behind; mild nuttiness; dry finish. Silky plus feel; medium plus body; moderate minus carbonation; no warmth from 8.5% abv. Overall, a beautiful beer and outstanding; easy drinking and smooth; I do like the Backwoods better, as Dirty is lighter in comparison; nevertheless, an enjoyable beer.
