Had #3 Friday. Really enjoyed it. The extended aging really does something to barleywine. Not too sweet.

I popped my #1 last night. I could smell the booze as soon as I poured it. I’m not going into @Quilentro level notes, cuz I’m slow this morning. It was also my last beer of the night, so my palate was a bit wrecked. But I enjoyed it. It reminded me a lot of the OIB/Lake Effect collab, Broken Bridge.

I had Intrinsic Duality No. 2 tonight.

Less harsh than No. 1; this one had nice notes of cream soda, oak & bourbon, with a hint of crème brulee once it warmed up.

Another one I think is worth copping at least a can of.

No. 3 to come this week!

(Accidentally posted this to the Revolution thread... @FBarber maybe you could delete that?

Did you pour two of the cans into a crowler just to feel alive again?

Tried all three at a share - all 3 were good, but 2 stood head and shoulders above the other ones for me.

Intrinsic Duality No. 3 was easily my least favorite of the three.

INSANE booze heat on this one; notes of toffee & oak were present, but dominated.

At times it felt like I was drinking straight bourbon.

    For me, it was 2 >> 1 >>>>>>>>>3.

Overall, I'm glad I tried them all but No. 2 is the only one I'd buy a second can of.

    Your mileage will obviously vary.

Just drank Intrinsic Duality No. 2 tonight and its delicious. Cant imagine #3 supplanting this one as my favorite. That being said #1 was also delicious. Very pleased to see the Pdubs barrel aged program coming back so strong.

For those who've had both, how does ID #2 compare to On & On Part 2?

I preferred On & On part 2...not by much, but it wasn't a tie for me.

On & On part 2 had more nuance; it wasn't just the caramel English barleywine vibes you expect, there was also some nice chocolate & cream notes.

Intrinsic Duality No. 2 was more "straight up" caramel, and a bit sweeter/boozier overall.

I could see an argument for the opposite, depending on personal taste, and both are very good beers.

Really liking Intrinsic Duality No. 1. Imma bit inebriated at the moment, but it was stupidly drinkable for a 15.3% 36-month-aged BBA imperial milk stout. Im not even going to attemp tasting notes, but it was smooth and rich. (Yeah, I DGAF about the typos even tho I noticed ‘em). Damn I wish I had another can of this!

Intrinsic Duality No. 2 (the barleywine) definitely delivered. Not quite VSOJ status, but while drinking Intrinsic Duality I couldn't help but to think to compare these two because they are both extended aged bourbon barrel aged barleywines. (and no I didn't do a side by side, I know...I know...)

Really liked the complexity... The finish was straight fire in the best possible way! Well integrated caramel, toffee, creme brulee, and vanilla ice cream with a splash of light bourbon! There were also a few flavors that were fairly unexpected including: apple streusel nutmeg, all spice, and cinnamon which kept this BW from being overly sweet/cloying.

This batch of Cryo citra really is some of my favorite beer of 2021. @NOTpipeworks is cryo mosaics in future plans?
