Hi I'm new to craft beer, as well as Beer Advocate in general, and I do not have many friends who are into craft beer and actively searching for new and good sought out for beers. I was wondering if there are any bottle shares or tastings in PA/NJ for me to bring bottles I cant drink alone too. Also for those concerned, I may be new to craft beer, however, I will be able to pull my weight at a share. Thanks.

I'd also be interested! Based in Philly area.

It seems like COVID changed things for the worst when it comes to shares. No line shares since many breweries switched to online sales/reservations systems and many of the forums seem less active for coordinating in-person shares.

I don't know if it will happen this tear or not but keep an eye out for information on the Stone Soup share in Jenkintown. It's always the week between the championship games and the Suberbowl.

Would that be posted here or elsewhere? (sorry, new to the BA forums)

It used to show up on the events page but I'm not sure if it still does. There should be a Facebook page out there somewhere.

There was a little bit of one at the Ralphius release Black Friday. I don't remember how I found it but I remember going to a share in the basement of a chinese restaurant in Philly shortly after I moved to the area in 2012. That was a hell of an afternoon.

Hm, it seems like the SE PA beer scene isn't that active, huh? The DVIP Facebook group also seems pretty inactive. I've been to a few recent beer releases and it seems like line shares aren't really happening in the age of COVID.

Maybe most people just realized that standing in line for hours to buy beer is dumb (regardless of COVID) ?

Used to be one every Thursday until the COVID lockdown and subsequent management change.
