    Good day BAs! Off to a (barely detectable) snowy start to the day but at least it's 22 degrees. Today's New Warming Breakfast Beer is a delicious bottle from @Roy_Hobbs in NBS BIF #14:

    This is an incredibly enjoyable heavy beer from a brewery that makes its reputation on lighter fare! A mixture of barleywine and stout (two of my favorite styles), it's delightful! Flavorful and aromatic, good mouthfeel, lacking only lacing to take over top spot as my highest rated brew! I foresee a trip to Salem, CT, in my not too distant future! Thanks Ross - this is/was great!

    Bottled 8/22/21. Poured at 54°. Always glad to have this coffee stout in my cup. It’s 28° and bright sunshine outside, and it won’t get out of the 40s today…our son Nate flys in this afternoon to spend the Christmas weekend with us…looking forward to a fun holiday.     Chicago continues it's glorious snowless stretch, and I am willing it to continue into 2022.

    Want to celebrate one of the oldest "local" (they are in Mundelein, ILL) breweries that flies under the radar for the most part on BA. Today it's their 10th anniversary, and while I can't make it to the brewery today, I am with them in spirit, and toast to another 10 years and beyond! They brew some of the best WCIPAs from our area, and I look forward to exploring some of their other options soon (I only discovered them this May).

    Howdy advocates and hoppy Thursday.

    Jeez, for various reasons we can’t celebrate Christmas right on 24th or the following day so we just had two long lunch with my mother and uncle, the aunt and cousins, full of meal and drinks including salmon, foie gras, deer and ton of wine, champagne and some beers. As you guys would elegantly say « I’m full ».

    Good day Advocates! Thanks to @Ozzylizard for opening todays thread with that barrel of Mantel! Also nice to see a couple of rauchbiers early in the day as well. I just rcv'd my 2nd shingles vax and am combating it's future temporary side fx with Stone Xocoveza Tres Leches Imp Stout. Just washed that snifter so WTF? Damn & blast! It's all messed up & scratched. NTL such a great brew to have early and I'm free as a bird today.

    Starting a day off with a 3 Sons Brewing Crisp and Chill, a Nelson DDH IPA, it's foam is almost like champagne. Afternoon visit to the dermatologist later to have some squamous cell removed, just in time for Christmas......

    Our son just asked us if he could invite three friends over for dinner Christmas Eve. They're international grad students spending the school break here instead of home. So now there's six of us dining, which means a quick (I hope) run to the grocery store. I'm fortifying myself with some Narwhal before venturing out.
