Since at age 72, I'm not the easiest person to find Christmas presents for I told my younger daughter in Los Angeles a couple years ago to send me some local beer I couldn't find here. She came through with Fremont's Coconut B-Bomb and Coffee Cinnamon B-Bomb which were outstanding. This year she came through with this

I've had Obsidian Stout before but how was she to know that? I specifically asked for something strong from Firestone Walker after being very envious of what @Beersnake1 posted in the Cellar forums.

When I saw the title of this thread, the FW 25th was the first beer that came to mind. Why? Probably because I bought myself one of these for Christmas earlier this week. Your daughter has exquisite taste. Cheers to both of you! :beers::beers:

My wife had gotten me the Founders Advent Calendar about a month ago as an early Christmas gift. I’m still working my way through that. Although it’s not beer, here is my present from this morning. [IMG]
    Cheers.

I wish I would get beer for Christmas. Im a simple guy who literally has everything I need and every year its painful trying to give back presents of things I dont want. Beer however would not be turned down.

This is hilarious!! My wife is supportive but doesnt buy me any beers!
She says its too much pressure to pick ones I will like. She doesnt drink beer, so its almost a foreign language.

Received this gift pack from my wife last Sunday. I've been working my way through it as you can see in my NBW posts. Unfortunately/fortunately, I've had to share some with my two of my sons who each have interests in some particular ones of these. Although I lose half a beer, sharing with my sons is the spirit of the season.

This is exactly my situation. Because she has no idea what I would want (or don’t already have), she gets glassware and a gift certificate to our local bottle shop. No complaints here!

    I like those fish prints.

The Gunners Daughter I’ve had the imperial version and enjoyed.

Been curious about that cinnamon stout.

Nice selection of beers. Your wife did well.

    Enjoy

My wife knows that I'm a picky fuck. I know what I like, and I can usually read enough reviews to know if I will like something. She would not be able to pick much for me, other than perhaps BCBS. The problem with where we live, though, is that there's not much good locally that I want to drink. Literally I drink BCBS, a few IPAs from trips, and then some things I trade (or have traded) for from my cellar.

Now, if I lived in Chicago on the other hand...

My wife is thoughtful enough to get engrossed and create an account and figure out how to get a proxy, but it's not worth it when I will already do it. NOW, let's say I got hospitalized and she knew I had been craving a really cool beer. By the time I got out, I could just about imagine she'd have cooked something up. Let's hope that never happens.

She dun guuud. Props to her for landing the Blantons. Depending on where you live, the Booker's can even be a little hard to find (silly, but the truth). Other two are great staples, and BT can be difficult to locate in certain regions.

Seems like she did her homework. She cares about you.

From what I understand she had a couple opportunities to get Bookers. The BT and of course the Blantons took some work. I was very appreciative. Cheers.

My fridge was about to get totally empty from beer to christmas, home transport from the super market was delayed by nearly a week because of the rush! So yesterday I bagged the returnable bottles and cans, and took a special walk in the cold winter to our nearby 24/7 and got some beer presents. Selection is enough for keeping you alive a few days!

My niece gave me an assortment of beers from Trois Becs in southeastern France. Organic beer who's claim to fame is that they are made from glacial water flowing from the Three Peaks. Tasty but not much different from 90% of the beers I've tasted in France. Their porter was the best, the blonde and amber pretty ordinary
