Seems like a lot of people have Pliny The Elder today. What's going on? Where's mine?

 

First snow caused me to lose focus

regardless, this Barleywine aged 3 years in bourbon barrels is tasty.

 

Lake effect snow in effect. I’m feeling nostalgic for that one time I was in Kansas. I think it’s time to move. Where can I have a cabin in the woods that acts as the perfect beer cellaring temp?

 

Alcoholic blackstrap molasses with some stout flavors in the background. Not bad.

Do certain parts of Europe have plastic bottles for beer? I swear I’ve seen this guy travel to parts of ex Soviet Union places in Central Asia and stuff and drink some sketching beers on YouTube

 

It's cold, and snowing outside. I'm done with work and have tomorrow off. Time to enjoy this beauty.

2019 Vintage, consumed on 12-28-2021

This beer pours pitch black. There's a good 2 finger tan head that forms in this beer as I pour. The bubbles are pretty small, for what it's worth. The head retention is quite good for this ABV, and there's some lacing on the glass as the head dissipates.
The nose has a nice coffee aroma. I also get some vanilla, as well as notes from the barrel used to age it.
The flavor starts out coffee, and it's a nice smooth coffee flavor. This beer is aged, but there's no green pepper flavor that happens when some coffee beers age. The vanilla hits in the middle. The flavor profile is rounded out by the flavors that the barrels put into this beer. Some caramel and toffee notes.
The body is pretty good. Not too thick and chewy. There's a bit of heat from the ABV that hits on the back. It's quite warming feeling, but not overpowering.
This is solid, and I can't wait to try the 2020 vintage.

Brewers Notes: New England style Triple India Pale Ale brewed with Strata, Mosaic, and Nelson Sauvin.

Deep murky orange liquid, one finger off white creamy foam cap , thin lacings , settles to a thin island and ring

Aroma is citrus orange, white grape , tangerine

Taste is citrus , orange, tangerine , bit of dank on the finish

Smooth, almost creamy, abv well hidden , gentle hop bite

Good beer

 

Whoa, this is a monster of a beer! If we're going to FL tomorrow I better ease up after this one....
