Pretty much dead on. I think I paid $80 for my bottle from TWCP

375s are great for on site and for sharing with one other person but I prefer 750s for beers like this so I can share. I really hope they don’t go the way of anchorage with pricing too.

minimum $40. this is coming from the cynical asshole that’s going to pay that (or more) too.

same here. these beers are rare enough and certainly expensive enough they deserved to be shared amongst friends.

Blend #5. These bottles are always fun. I’m on alert with the acidity, but I thought it was very manageable throughout. About a 3 hour experience. First pour versus second pour is also a good comparative of flavors. Barney opening, zippy carb. Mellows. Then a lot of “fruit without fruit” character. Strawberry and stone fruit. Maybe a slightly sweet finish. I’d never had the Pinot Noir version and I was very impressed/very much enjoyed it.

    Cheers

[IMG] Fine you guys talked me into it. This is good! I like it better than regular, hops are nice. Still far behind the value in anna or arthur, but a nice option to have for sure!

hey when they did their mixing for perennials anny stout, didn’t sp make their own blend to release too?

I still have no idea how people find labels from the TTB

Am I the only one that couldn’t tell the difference between DDH and regular Grisette?

Everyone knows that DH always tastes better than regular, DDH always tastes better than DH, and TDH is the best there is, until we get QDH of course.

Kidding about naming and labels influencing tastes aside, what made the DH version of this so great to me is that it was minimal extra hopping compared to what we're used to in beers labeled DH and DDH and they used a hop to complement the flavors of the existing beer. It still tastes mostly like Grisette.

i thought it added a wonderful floral, almost juicy component that i don’t typically taste in Grisette.

Then it was just me :sob:. I’ll go back to drinking bud light, a beverage suitable for my palate.

at least go for a busch light, have some respect for yourself!!

as i typed that reply about DH Grisette it did occur to me what a fan of Grisette you are and so i could see how the DH-ing may not do much for you or even ruin what you consider to be a perfectly fine beer.

Before the day gets rolling I wanted to pop in and thank everyone in this thread. Awesome insight you’ve shared on beers and a brewery that I love, but have nowhere near the experience with it that you all have. I appreciate it.

I also want to thank the amazingly generous and friendly folks who have been proxies and or otherwise awesome throughout the year. Thank you…Baback, Dan, Jeff, Ryan, and Brian.

I was going to say the same thing. And I had a regular not long before the dry hopped.

But at this point, this long into its age, I can't imagine any perceived differences back then would be present anymore.

And for the record, I don't think it was double dry hopped, was it? Just hopped at a different stage in the process than it normally is...?

Would have been cool to do a side by side. Never did though, but I really liked the dry hopped version.

Today's long haul pour courtesy of @rmpic82 . An all time want of mine and Ryan knocked it out of the park. Thank you again!

    Ananbasis, Blend #5

…Color of this beer into the glass looked like melted caramel and flowed almost as thick. Thickest looking bw I’ve ever seen. I’ve only taken a few sips, but I’m all in on it. Cheers!

Anabasis is such a great beer. b4 was my all-time favorite. haven’t checked in on b5 in a while.
