That was me. Glad you’ve found it useful! I’m really picky about saisons being fully carbed and will even cap the bottle in between pours if I’m going to solo one over an hour or so.

Um, not sure why it would be a Trump reference at all...it was saying @Beer_Economicus was coming out swinging (kicking?). Mostly, it was an excuse to use an awesome Bloodsport gif. I love Bloodsport.

Google Bloodsport and Trump, you'll laugh.

I'm planning a trip to Side Project later this month or early February. I'll be in the area a few days and looking for some tips and recommendations on best days to visit the brewery/cellar, good places to stay and other places to check out. Thanks in advance for the feedback or pointing me in the right direction if this is already covered somewhere else.

I read the whole post. It read as sarcastic to me. Did you not expect anyone to respond?
I got no beef with anyone, I just don't understand when people openly criticize something and are then surprised that there is a response.

I was trying to retire from Untappd and cut back on trading :fearful:. It's not going well. Thanks for reminding me. Jan 2 and my resolutions are already in the trash.

Nope. Not saying that at all.

Of course. I like Side Project, too.

You seem to be missing it. Everyone should expect there will be a response regardless of whether someone posts something positive or negative. Those are viewpoints/opinions; that’s how it works. Everyone has different views; that is what makes it fun. Just as you think someone should expect a reaction if someone posts a “critical” review, you should expect a response if you post a glowing review. You make a post lauding the way SP did something? Expect someone will have the opposite view or experience. Does that mean that both views shouldn’t be welcome?

You can say that both are, but there is a pretty obvious trend in the SP thread: the SP thread does not like negative SP views, less than glowing reviews, or criticism. Every other brewery thread deals better with positive/negative comments. As an example, Visit any Chicago thread. You’re bound to see someone essentially say a beer is shit if even if it has a 4.5 score. You don’t generally see people get crazy defensive in those threads; you usually just see a discussion. That’s generally not how the SP thread goes.

You think they bottles both 375 and 750s like they do sometimes with their sours? That would be super interesting. Wondering if the 375 is db derivation tho

    Lodging: Airbnb in Maplewood
-A lot of the local hotels are short staffed with the pandemic so they are pretty much operating like an Airbnb anyways

Itinerary: If you have the luxury of waiting for stout week, that could be cool. But, regardless BBT and MJK have been on for 2-months with a rotating selection of other great stouts and saisons.
Arrive Thursday and go to cellar
    Friday at the Brewery
Saturday at the Brewery and walk to cellar after midday snack
-Other notable breweries to visit: Perennial on Lockwood, 2nd Shift, maybe Wellspent. Narrow gauge is kinda far, but you can do lunch there at Cugino's with a nice IPA selection.

    Nearby food:
Lunch: Balkan Treat box, Gus's Fried chicken, Bolyard butcher for a sandwich, Blue Duck for burgers
Dinner: Elmwood for pizza, Acero for Italian, The Block for american (decent drafts although you will probably be in hydration mode), Chiang Mai (best Thai food in St. Louis), Sugarfire or Salt/Smoke for ribs (Salt/Smoke does Doordash).
Drunk food: Raising Cane's, Jack in the Box
Resist the urge to go to White Castle!

You can pretty much come to St. Louis any day of the week and make it work. However, a lot of local restaurants are closed Monday's and some Tuesdays. Thursday is a good light day to arrive and see the cellar in a comfortable environment.

Sounds like a fun beer trip! Hope everything falls into place.

Doesn’t mean that bottle isn’t DBD.

Am I mistaken, or is that Symmetry bottle waxed. That means it's been in bottles for..awhile, right?

Definitely looks waxed instead of sealed like Bubble Wrap / latest Tete.

Beers starting to disappear from the storefront. Guessing there's a Symmetry package brewing. Good thing we all made cellar space over the holidays.

Looks like Blueberry Flanders and Pinot.

They must have made a boatload of Flanders. I can't believe it has stuck around this long. For my sister and her friend, I think I've purchased 8 of them myself.

Please no more BB Flanders. Worst SP beer of 2021 for me. I really like Flanders but it’s just too acidic.
